I found these pictrues of the correct brake for a M170. You could have someone fabricate the mounting brakcet. The brake is for a M38A1. I found a brand new handle on ebay from Athens (Not GA but Greece. Good Luck
CPDOG........thanks. I have been trying to figure out how the handle was attached. I modified the brake handle and it pullls up on the left side of the transmission. Maybe I can modify now that I know where the handle is supposed to be how it is mounted. Thanks.....
Wasn't a kit. I found a post on one of the military vehicle sites some time back and lost track of where Sergeant Major of the Gee posted it on the site.
I replaced the guts of the oil bath air filter. I ran across the post on the internet about replacing the guts with a NAPA Gold 2036 air...
In the last month of so I have somewhat restored my M170, which my research shows was a Marine Corp Radio Jeep. All the parts back of the dash are almost impossible to find. As for the seats I used the passenger seat for the M38A1 on the drivers and the passenger side. Found the cushions and...
I ordered M38A1 passenger seats. I had to add a peg to the right side of the seat. Placed the drivers side seat on the original holes that were in the floor. I used blind metal inserts that expanded and held the bolts. I do not have the dome cover for the fuel pickup. I did find Hillman...
I bought a USMC M-170 radio jeep in 2017. I have no use for the radios that came with it since I use it as a farm vehicle on my farm here in NC.
Anyone got any ideas of the value?

In March 2017 I came across on eBay a 1953 M170 (that’s what NC title says) and I purchased it in Raleigh, NC. One of the prior owners had ID'd as a Marine Corp Radio Jeep, not sure about that but its one now on my goat and llama farm in NC. It was in running condition when I got it, but went...
A guy in California, Christian Hazel an editor of a 4wd magazine, got it running and in derivable condition. He sold it to a guy in Arizona who sold it a guy in Raleigh and I bought it 3 years ago. Had the transmission and transfer case rebuilt, correct carburetor and balanced the tires. I...
I've got an 1953 M-170 that I am working on, not to the extent that your restoration. Mine was best I can tell a Marine Corp radio jeep. Mine runs great and I am 3 years older than it and I leak, too. Getting ready to have it painted or I may try myself. Seats are hard to find, the holy...
