I agree, given its rarity and military background I expect with the right write up someone would snap it up and then figure out what they would do with it afterwards.

Bring a trailer does tend to attract the big bids. A lot of impulse buyers with deep pockets. They have sold SEEs for similar bucks with the loader and backhoe removed with big tires.

Anyone have leads on a part SEE?

No I do not want to buy a truck, I am just doing a favor to someone to see if anyone has the parts in question. The individual claims to have attempted to join Steel Soldiers multiple times.

Anyone have leads on a part SEE?

Not for me, but someone on the Mercedes Unimog forum, he is looking for a set of fuel tank brackets. My guess is the only person who would not have a use for tank brackets has a SEE that is too far past rebuilding. Many SEE carcasses got sold as scrap out of RRAD so they must have ended up...

Sourcing a replacement for the cross body airline.

Long ago I posted a thread on the type of fittings needed. I used copper nickel tubing. Copied from a prior thread The air fittings in this system are bit of nightmare as they are mix of metric AN fittings and Metric straight threads. I picked up a metric pitch gauge and had a set of...

    Spring SEE Starting 2024

I did some searching on the forum for a thread which include the word "starting" and all I find is my questions from 2018 and some replies. It used to be major battle to start mine after it had sat over the winter for 4 or 5 months. A few years ago, the local Unimog expert heard my issues and...

I posted a photo at one point of the jack I welded up. Hopefully I set it up as a separate thread.

Keep in mind, there are set of front pivot brackets required to lift the cab, they act as hinges. There are also prop rods required to hold the cab forward in tilted position. Without them or something equivalent very bad things can happen. I think most folks just rig up their own prop rods...

Any chance you can get at by removing the defrost outlet?. Getting to behind the dash is major project and PITA due to the front end loader as you need to do from the outside under the hood. There is fresh air and defroster duct work in the way that has be removed.

There is someone on the Benzworld Unimog forum that seems to have a lot of experience on renting vehicles for films.

I have not had a leaky hub seal that I have seen. There are three plugs on the portal axle a drain a fill and one used to check the level. They could be loose as they are supposed to be checked on occasion. The portal does not contain much oil and if the level is low bad things happen to...

FLU419 SEE San Antonio mechanic mentioned in thread & throttle issue

In my case I had to replace some parts. Because the cab is designed to be lifted up (with a lot of hassle and some special tools), the pedal linkage attached to the pedal is not firmly attached to the rest of the linkage. Instead it is hooked to a roller that pushes on rounded lever with big...

My guess is the 1" one is optimized for use on railroad tracks. The Cog railroad up Mt Washington in NH that was built in the 1860s has been upgrading their fleet and they built a special car for track maintenance, they reportedly use all Stanley hydraulic tools. Their tracks are custom with...

Wow, pretty rare, although at least one guy claimed he bought a recapped one at auction and the tools and accessories were still sealed in the tool boxes. Did it come with the ultra rare long stroke hydraulic bottle jack? Those seem to disappear quickly. Do note there are mixed opinions on...

They are all Stanley Hydraulic Systems tools with green paint on them. Be careful there are a lot of the stanley tools that did not come with SEEs from the electrical power transmission trade.
