MV show at Dickson,TN airport, Nov 8

I may be willing to drive down. Any idea what type of Historical Military aircraft will be there?

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Info SSGR14 thread

Regarding the Pinz, I bet it was a case of mistaken identity with the Land-Rover 101FC. The irony being that I was probably driving it during the sighting. ;) The Land-Rover 101 is a cool truck, and very much like a Pinz in utility, concept, size and capacity. But it is definitely not like a...

I heard that too, but saw no signs of a Pinz. I've been to the last three GA Rally's, and never have seen a Pinz (or a Tatra) attend. Could it be a mix-up with the Unimog SEE tractor that showed up?

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Multimedia SSGR14 thread

Don't worry silly wabbit, we still have our work cut out for us. Remember that we are still the bastard children on the forum. But perhaps if we keep growing our numbers, one day we'll reach Tatra status and finally have a home.

I agree, it sure seem like there were fewer trail rides. I personally attributed it to the PA system failure. I only drove in one very short trail ride, and rode along in another. In the past, I would go on at least one a day, and I was there 4 days, not counting Sunday. I never got to see...

Official 2015 Georgia Rally Radio Communications Thread

swbradley1 - Volunteering, yes. I'm from Tennessee, so it's a natural. Fighting Mexicans, radio comms, whatever... We will make it happen. The GMRS I post here will be linked to CB channel 4. Admin may use a different channel if you wish, but this is what I will support with our linked GMRS...

Official 2015 Georgia Rally Radio Communications Thread

I'm starting this thread early in an effort to try and lock in the first post so we have a definitive listing of radio frequencies and channels which will be used at the 2015 rally. This will be a living page and will be updated as the rally nears...

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Amateur Radio / Communications Thread

Post #49 is not where the frequency should have been. I saw at least two posts which identified 145.500, including one apparent definitive post on frequencies, so I took it as correct. The right way to do this is to put the most important information in post #1. It should have listed the...

I guess the question is which was the right one? They had 146.500 up front at the CP apparently, but we were all on 145.500. How did we let that happen? We hams should be able to do better. On the bright side, we did have several HF contacts made from Military rigs at the FOB and mobile...

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Amateur Radio / Communications Thread

NOTICE: there appears to be two 2m admin freqs in use at the rally: 145.500 MHz 146.500 MHz Both have been listed in this thread. I suspect one is a mistake. Our group has been on 145.500 the past three days, as listed last in this thread, but we have heard no other hams over the past three...

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Amateur Radio / Communications Thread

I haven't kept up with everything in this thread, but I'm not seeing any HF freqs listed? Myself (W8BUG) and KM4V will be convoying Wednesday morning and will be on 14.342.5 USB. This is one of the standard Military HF Pack freqs. We could QSY to other HF Pack freqs, but I'll try to be...

51.00MHz is what you will need. Just like last year. Did you get that audio problem worked out? I can't remember if we fixed it before the end of the rally last year or not. Also, I'm working on the SIIA grill. You have SIII now, correct? Will the 151 have commo? Garret W8BUG

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Amateur Radio / Communications Thread

We will be there as we have the past two years with our mobile Military HF and VHF stations. Will be on the Military ham and "HF Pack" freqs, including VHF tactical on 51.00MHz. We offered to bring a linked repeater/base station with plenty of portables for event coordination throughout the...
