    Gauge brackets idea.

There are some for sale for 35. You can see how they made them if you want to make some too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/296345613683

SEC12 on milemarker hydraulic winch plate.

Did you grease up the holders with dielectric grease to prevet rust? Did you do anything to try to seal out the water? You might get another one and make the mods and put the pvc with it and keep in the truck for emergencies just in case. Glad it all worked out for you!

SEC12 on milemarker hydraulic winch plate.

Here is an example of a parts plate that might work if you rebuild one yourself. By comparing the rivets to the size of the brushes and the type of spring it uses, I think the brass holders on this could be used to modify your existing plate to prevent any future corrosion. There is also a...

Can you service a turret bearing?

Find TM 9-2320-280-20-3 Volume 3 then find section 11-113, Page 11-158 It describes the maintenance. I copied the page. Note the first step includes "Discard Seals" meaning you'll need new seals. I'd try to find them before continuing.

SEC12 on milemarker hydraulic winch plate.

After a little more searching on ebay and thinking that your motor is likely based on car starter motor, there are brush assemblies for Prestolite starters that look very similar. At the very least they might be able to be used for parts. Researching a little more and I bet you can find a...

SEC12 on milemarker hydraulic winch plate.

If it's the brush holders, are they preventing the brushes from moving? Assuming the issue is the brushes can't move and therefor are not touching the armature? A couple of thoughts. Clean up the holders again and use dielectric grease on the inside of the holders to help prevent future...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

First, thanks for the reply. I believe we are on the same page on all points. To clarify I have 24vdc at the cadillac valve at all times when everything is hooked up. at that point the fan clutch is always disengaged or not applying power to the fan to cool the engine. We are saying the...

Time Delay Module Theory of Operation: 24vdc power is supplied to the TDM on wire 583 (Red in picture) and passes thru the TDM to the Cadillac Valve also on wire 583. Ground is supplied to the TDM on wire 93 (Black in picture). The Ground circuit is interrupted to turn On and Off the...

Everything you Never wanted to know about your Coolant Temperature Fan Switch. Basic HMMWV Operation. It supplies power (24v) to a terminal on the Time Delay Module. When the temperature exceeds a specific set temp the switch turns OFF. This engages the fan to deliver more air flow to the...

Did I Make a Mistake Buying This M1097R1 Humvee? $10.5k, No Title, Need Advice

There are a lot of things that drive the price IMO. Engine and transmission are a major consideration and make a big difference on intended use. With the 3 speed you are limited IMO to around town or local off road use. With the 4 speed it is a lot more road friendly but still not good for...

Did I Make a Mistake Buying This M1097R1 Humvee? $10.5k, No Title, Need Advice

I'd try to identify a date on some other part of the vehicle. For example the transfer case, engine, transmission, differential etc. The regulator on the alternator usually has a date code. Use that to date the year of manufacture so that you aren't just making up a number. Many states...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Thank you. It got a bunch of compliments at the show. Several people asked where I got it (the top). They were all surprised when I told them I made it that week for the show to have a place to sleep. Easy access to the side doors where the coolers are.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Back on Page 12, Post 231 of this thread HERE I mounted the US Shift Quick 4 TCU in the dash in place of the air filter gauge. The plan was always to create a bezel for it to match the rest of the gauges. Now that I have a 3D printer and started learning how to design parts, I came up with...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

In the 3 weeks leading up to camping in my HMMWV I also wanted to tackle some of the other projects I never got to. One priority project was Door Locks! I've contemplated the replacement locking door handles but I never really liked them. Reminded me too much of file cabinet locks. Please...
