    MEP803A Resistor - Diode Assembly

I know this is responding to an old post but the MPU (Magnetic Pick Up) can be unplugged by the starter. It produces an AC (not DC) voltage of between 2-3 volts AC. If it is below that, loosen the locknut and turn it clockwise 1/8 turn at a time and then recheck.

    MEP-802/803 fuel return improvements

Found the 15' roll on ebay for $42. Thanks for the part number.

    MEP-802A fuel tank removal.

Wow. Your issues are exactly the same as what I am seeing with the 813 I just bought from GP. Tar in the bottom of the fuel tank, fuel tank sender not working, and minimal fuel pumping. The return line just past the rail is leaking too. I got it running just to make sure it was worth...

Changed fuel filters in MEP-803A... now it won't start.

My 813 has the same issue with the gummed up tube fill tube screen. Were you able to clear it out using gumout or something?

    MEP-803A battery size

OK I missed that before THANKS for pointing it out again. I cancelled my group 26 order and instead ordered two of these walmart U1R-7s. EXCELLENT to hear that these tractor batteries are still working after 3 years. I mean, as long as you keep a charge maintainer on them there is no reason...

    MEP-803A battery size

Thanks for the pictures of fitment. These 26s look good in there. This is just a generator after all, and you have 2 batteries. If this were a 12 volt system, you would be able to use 1 650 cca and it would be fine. With twice the voltage you only need half the amps to do the same work. I...

New MEP-1040 pushing strange colored oil out of filler cap

Nice catch on the hour meter. I will go check that out. However, this unit arrived today and I was able to give it a quick check. The oil looks good. It's a perfect honey color with zero white froth or anything bad looking. And it's not over filled / reading high on the dipstick as it...

New MEP-1040 pushing strange colored oil out of filler cap

OK very useful info. Will get that break in oil. I have all the manuals.

New MEP-1040 pushing strange colored oil out of filler cap

Yes, will certainly check the level of all fluids and drain/replace them all when I receive the unit by end of next week. Since all the units sold that day have the exact same oil, but no white froth (which is commonly seen with water in the oil) I am still skeptical about there being any water...

New MEP-1040 pushing strange colored oil out of filler cap

I bought sight unseen like most people but the pictures make it look very new inside and out. No rust even on the skids. This thing has been stored inside IMO. I looked at the videos from the other four MEP-1040 gensets which sold today. In 3 of those cases they also showed the genny running...

New MEP-1040 pushing strange colored oil out of filler cap

Hi folks, new member/first post. I just bought a new (5 hours) MEP-1040 from GP and now I noticed in one of the vids that they show milky colored oil coming from the filler cap during their run test. Sadly I did not notice this when looking through the many pictures and vids before buying but...
