5 ton fuel tank selector valve cleaning/rebuild

A few pictures of my M931A0 fuel selector valve rebuild..... 23mm 6-point wrench I made myself to remove the extremely tight big fuel lines from the valve (worked like a charm on a previously-beat fitting) ** All bead blasting was done with pipe plugs in place & the inside valve parts removed **

    Pic of my cooked alternator

With 4 big batteries between the load & your alternator should have prevented that. I agree, it would have happened anyway.

    voltage too high

    Well??

    Cold Weather Starting NHC-250

I removed the fuel selector valve, lines a little bit dirty but nothing major. - Fuel selector to fuel filter line = Clear blowing both directions. - LH tank feed hose to selector valve = Pressurize tank, no fuel flow to valve, vent & return line vent air slowly. (Blow back from valve toward...

    Protective Control Box schematic?

Does anybody have a wiring schematic for the M939 Protective Control Box? I design power distribution systems for heavy equipment & would like to know exactly what is going on inside that box without gutting mine, just in case I need to replace one or somebody else needs a replacement /...

    Cold Weather Starting NHC-250

You are right, I will make the majority of my effort pressurizing the fuel tank & pushing the obstruction forward away from the tank. I drove the truck 650 miles up from Texas & it never gave me a hassle. Filled & drained both tanks twice during the trip. I guess I just lucked out it didn't...

    Cold Weather Starting NHC-250

Thanks wheelspinner, I will shoot it down the stack then. How many engine rotations does it take to get to the engine? Yes, it is a fuel delivery problem. The pump is pulling hard, the fuel filter is clean, the line between the two flows 100%. It has to be a clog up in or around the fuel tank...

    Kansas CDL Answer

I emailed the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Dept. of Revenue Driver's License Dept, & Kansas Dept. of Revenue Commercial License Dept. & ALL THREE said that my M931 is not considered a commercial vehicle & I do not have to have a CDL to drive it. 1) I'm not making money with it 2) It weighs...

    Cold Weather Starting NHC-250

The fuel tank selector switch would stop ALL fuel flow through the valve, even pressurizing the fuel tanks & trying to blow it through? I have to get me some of those ether cans, getting real tired of the 5-ton boogie :)

    M931 Conex Box

How much lift would the box need to clear the tires? Container locks would be great.

    M931 Conex Box

Has anyone ever tried mounting a 10-foot CONEX box on the back of an M931? Remove the 5th wheel & bolt down a CONEX box right on the frame. I've got this idea & wondering if anyone has ever tried it.

Agree, I need block heaters bad. Both trucks are in extension cord range so yeah, no doubt. I'm gonna have to disconnect the batteries so I can charge them 12 volt as I don't have a 24V charger.
