I just got new brake shoes and drums , when assembled the smallest diameter I can adjust the shoe to is 9 " OD. The drums inside diameter is a little less than 9". I think par of the problem is the shoes i received are a little wider than the originals I removed. Anyone have any ideas? Do I need to have the drums turned?

Do your old drums measure the same as the new ones?

Don’t turn the drums, they need all the thickness they can get. Whoever relined the shoes used too thick friction material.

From the post it seems like you received both shoes and drums, new ones. Do you have the old ones to compare?
Each time I make a part change, I’ve had problems and my Willys is a mix of new and rebuilt parts, and from brake cylinder to fuel pump I often end-up rebuilding instead of replacing parts.
Always keep the old/original parts!
