Choked her about halfway and she instantly came to life!! It was a cold February day but once the starter engaged, she came to life and I didn’t need to leave the choke on for long at all.
with that kind of performance your truck clearly has a Zenith carb, which superceded the original (and ornery) holley .. you've won the battle of performance/economy with that engine without having to suffer ;)

Not sure if we have a match but I grabbed a bunch of photos from a few manuals. The Canadian pages are half French and not organized where all the crane info is in one spot. Some reference an M543, some reference the M818 but I saw some 246 info as the sun set. I dragged the books out of the bunker and will poke through for more details. Let me know if you see something familiar.

WOW! Those are great, thanks! The rear fender pics are fantastic, I haven’t found those in any manuals I’ve come across (online nor in person). Very helpful, thank you very much for taking the time to look through those manuals & post these pics! Very much appreciated!

The index in these books must have made sense to someone. Found an outrigger photo which looks close so hope we have something.

Again, thank you so very much for taking the time to post these!

The forward outriggers on the M246 appear to be the same as these; I will go through the part numbers to check similarities when I have time (got pulled off working on my 246 because Life Happens).

@Mullaney has some great posts on his M936 outriggers that helped me quite a bit also.
