IP timing

After having the worst time trying to get my newly bought LDS pump on my LDT motor I decided to compare TM on just this. It appears there is a small difference from these two in regards to the HH scribed tooth being one of to the rear or just being visible. What's the deal? And what is the most accurate?

One of the pages of the TM you showed is when we replace the whole IP and how to set it up. When first installing the IP to the engine the timing is not going to be correct. The other is showing corrected timing with harmonic balancer on its Mark the advance window on its Mark and the head approximately one tooth to the rear. So bottom line is when we install the IP to the motor the harmonic balancer will be on its correct stroke and Mark. The advanced timing window will not be on its mark and the head red scribe will not be on its mark but be visible. Then we correct the timing by rotating the center bolt on the drive gear and bring the advanced window to its mark and tighten the three bolts for the drive gear and the head should be approximately one tooth to the rear.
