@2Pbfeet , @grywitt posted this BOM of his plaque in Post #6
IMG_4629.jpeg

The Lights XD51 thru XDS4 and XDS5 thru XDS7 are E type lights, meaning they are of a screw type bulb

the Lights DS5 thru DS7 are the S6S DC lightbulbs with Bayonet socket

According to grywitt, he unscrewed 7 bulbs possibly meaning those are the XD51 thru XDS7?

I don’t think he took out DS5 to DS7 yet.

The best thing would be @grywitt if you could share with us XD / XDS bulbs you removed and what they are

Hey. Sorry for the confusion. 4 of the lights are spares and 4 are working indicator lights xds1-4.
Are the ones I've been trying to source. They are 120vac neon lights. I guess I shouldn't have been talking about the non working spare lights to avoid confusing the issue. If you look back through my pics you will see 4 lights with a wire through the whole batch. Well three now since I used one to replace the one that the wire broke off then touched the other side and fried it. You can see the scorch marks .

Question, are the 4 sockets for the spare bulbs are labeled DS4 to DS7 inside the enclosure next to the sockets?
No those are the bigger sync lights. There are two on the front and one on the back of the sync box

Ok, thank you and XDS1 to XDS 4 are the 4 Lights which need new bulbs and XDS5 to XDS7 are the spare bulb holders which are[were] all soldered together with one wire?

And this should match of what you got there without the spelling error on XDS1 {XD51 on plaque]?

Green is xds5-7. You can't see one of them in this Pic because it's on the other side of the box facing the other gen. Red is the spare bulbs and I don't believe they are mentioned or labeled anywhere. Yellow is the xds1-4.

The part number on the print you posted for xds1-4 is different than the part number on my plaque so I think that's the print for the new version.

Ok, @grywitt here is your homework and the best we can do.

Attached is the military catalog from diallight formerly known as Dialco

Go to pages 13 and 14 those are 359 lights,

They changed all the old part numbers in the genset to the new ones in the catalog without having a cross reference table for the old numbers starting with 13

Check all dimensions and voltages etc.

You may just want to replace the current lights completely with new sockets

Good luck

Thanks a lot. You've really dig into this matter. If the bulbs i ordered don't fit in those housings I bought i think I might just convert to led. I really want to stay stock but I can honestly probably do better.

Whoot whoot. I haven't gotten a chance to make sure they work but I think they are going to. The little neon lights fit down in the lamp holder. I bought five of these because that's how many of the lenses I bought. A couple of these lights have a pretty big glob of solder but I can fix that. If everything works right I'll buy another 5 and change all the lights and spares so they are all new. Thank you everyone for the help tracking down the right stuff and or good substitutes.

One more update. I'm a little embarrassed about this one but I was mistaken about the lamps in the old ones being removable. I guess some the one i tried to take apart had been arced and melted i was under the impression that they weren't removable because that one wasn't. But after getting the two halves that I ordered I started looking closer at the old ones. I'm still not sure what lamp they are exactly but they do come out and fit into the new lenses so I have original color lighting as well. So if in the future someone runs into this the lamps will fit into new lenses and midget flange base 120 volt T 1³/⁴ or T2 size bulbs fit into those stovpipe lenses referred to earlier in this thread. Still unsure what original lamps were used.
