I think the term "EMP proof" for any electronic device is going to be a bit crap shoot. (space craft, some military ? But the flood of commercial gear... not so much) Smart boxes and 4 speed TCM with all of the semiconductor (1000's in the CPU +) ready for a pulse and wiring acting as...
Tee off the factory oil pressure sender. Fab up a simple bracket off the block to hold guage, Then route a short piece of tubing to mechanical gauge. Simple. The gauges I used are oil filled about $17 each. I didn't want them in the cab. The thought 🤔 was to double check during maintenance...
Take a look here to see what YA got. Just like the fuel pressure sender and tachometer sender.
Easy stuff....... don't let the simple plug win LOL
Going to require some of that wiggle, jiggle, pull and careful twist and shout, CAMO
Close up shot of the lamp assembly. NO USER serviceable part to yank on, twist or pull ???
This is more or less just the light > https://hummer-hmmwv.tpub.com/TM-9-2320-387-24-1/css/TM-9-2320-387-24-1_458.htm
Reading all of this will burn your eyes out >...
If for some reason handle is at the end of travel on the lever (wound tight) back it off a bit so you will have good adjustment later. Find the center of the twisty adjustment on top of the lever (could be stuck, rusted or busted) before the course adjustment to the clevis underneath. Check...
All that you point to in the program makes for a good practice when applied. (I'am with ya)(y) Critical parts like this one... Would the NHTSA want data ? Maybe the BBB would be the place ?
It's a buyer beware market place. CAMO
OHhhhhh Here we go... NHTSA and all the other letters in the alphabet would likely recall all HumV's . LOL
Lucky no one was hurt. Yes, things break. Question ? Was it found during inspection, was felt not right while driving OR let go with WTF is going on.
Lots of stories to the Chineeeeze...
Are you using the mulitmeter correctly? Drawing shows meter selected in the 10 amp range (ok), test leads not position in the 10 amp jack.
On the surface (picture) something not right in the procedure. (generally to measure current) If your are using your Camotek controller? off is OFF. NO...
I didn't mean like lost... let search the world lost. Knowing government paper work... it could be lost in plain site, LOL
Lost like here it is in this guys driveway, CAMO
Yes, the green stripe Gates products are a go to, USA standard that we grew up with.... and to add... if you can find them. The point being the work around of the hard lines to move water thru a distant of 22 inches.
I was messing with you on the silicone boys. Guess you like the hard...
That's exactly what I did. Saw those hard lines and thought 🤔.... Those HumV engineer's are over - thinking the simple again. I used silicone hoses and the special clamps. Routed them to avoid any rubbing interference to engine moving parts / brackets. Like you stated, or I say "less monkey...
As I look back, reviewing the notes, drawings and sleeping on it 😴 I was wondering if one didn't have the connector indexed wrong. I have seen customers do this before, and that's all I will say. It can happen and now a new teachable moment / learning experience for ALL.
IMO... it would be...
These are GREAT posts to the goings on... or not on. Stay focused, logical approach (knowing one can get bit in the butt lol) process of elimination or substitution (your rewire bypass if done correctly)
I am getting the feeling were not getting the whole story. These "boxes" if you...
Lead acid batteries have two states of charge. Charged and discharging. Not too good at storage. Ninth grade auto shop 101 teacher notes. Fifty five years ago, still true today, lol.
In the storage shed...dead, CAMO
Not sure why they are called HUMVEE's
Never heard a hum. Always something clinking, clanging and banging. Heard a buzz and that was the cut in the flywheel / starter shield touching.
What's a VEE sound like? CAMO
