Is replacing the steel fuel line with rubber from the tank to the lift pump on an m1008 advisable? I'm getting air and if the lines are rusted, seems it would be easier to replace them with rubber.

I've just noticed a similar noise from my m1008, but it goes away after the engine warms. Check these things: proper belt tension power steering fluid level wingnuts on breather cover Don't know what my problem is, but hope this helps you.

I'd like to add a drain plug and temp sensor to my tranny pan. Where are safe locations for these items? Thanx in advance.

1986blazerk5 I'm going to use the same kind of temp setup that I have for the radiator. Seems to me that it'll work for tranny fluid just as well as for antifreeze.

My m1008 also gets around 17 mpg. The m1008's are geared low: 4:56. Don't expect to win any speed trials as 55 mph is about all you'll get--60 if you're late for school, work, etc. M1008's are loud and ride rough: that's what I like about them! IMHO stay away from any 12 volt...
