I looked in the forums-AGAIN-and unless I'm missing something, I don't see a lot of how-to posts. Can anyone point me to how this can be done? I'd like the installaton to be as if it came from the factory-as much as possible.
I replaced my1008's radiator a few weeks ago and installed a 180* thermostat during the process. While driving, I never could get a temperature above 140*. I re-installed the original thermostat and the temperature initially went up to 160* or so, but now stays at 140* and will venture into the...
Is replacing the steel fuel line with rubber from the tank to the lift pump on an m1008 advisable? I'm getting air and if the lines are rusted, seems it would be easier to replace them with rubber.
I've just noticed a similar noise from my m1008, but it goes away after the engine warms. Check these things:
proper belt tension
power steering fluid level
wingnuts on breather cover

1986blazerk5 I'm going to use the same kind of temp setup that I have for the radiator. Seems to me that it'll work for tranny fluid just as well as for antifreeze.
Anybody know the correct depth I'm supposed to install a new harmonic balancer. Is it OK to get it real close to the proper point and then use the bolt to find the correct depth?
I've noticed that for the past few weeks my '85 m1008's engine taps until it warms up. It seems to coming from the left (driver's) side. The truck has 94,000 miles. Any thoughts?
My m1008 also gets around 17 mpg. The m1008's are geared low: 4:56. Don't expect to win any speed trials as 55 mph is about all you'll get--60 if you're late for school, work, etc. M1008's are loud and ride rough: that's what I like about them! IMHO stay away from any 12 volt...
