Real funny part, I was passing my friends house, he was out in his driveway with his back turned, the second my hand touched the horn button the tire blew. Fortunately he had some new underwear for both of us!
I ran a 2" stump through one other while aired down, playing in the woods at Haspin.
Biggest thing I think is so many of these get run low or parked flat, due to o-ring or wheel valve leaks. Low tire= heat, will kill any tire, I just think some may handle it better?
I no longer have XL's on my...
Yes, Michelin 14.00R20 XL.
Yes, these tires are getting old but, I believe I overheated the tire that day, 95 degrees outside, around 34,000lb on rear tandem, 55mph and only 85psi in the tires.
I've had many uneventful loads on those tires running up to their max rating of 40,000lb on the...

Sorry, couldn't resist...
Also cut some good blocking to fit nicely inside your bed frame rails. The last time I drove about 30 miles with a tire chained up, the chain crushed the top flange of the frame rail pretty bad, even though I was empty.
What model is the data plate in this photo from? I can't make it out with the glare. I thought all M939 series data plates where rated 10k only?

Well I guess we'll never get the actual measurements from Smckerigan if you guys keep beating on him. I would imagine he got the point quite some time ago. The ramps look like an excellent starting point to me.
Maybe this is all just a goof to get everyone fired up anyway. Maybe he loaded the...
Awesome looking ramps, deserve there own thread!
If they held up to the 5,000lb jeep once that's a **** of a starting point.
Could you get a measurement of how much arch you have built into you ramps?
I'm thinking of making a set and bridging the bottom of the arch with some flat strap.
And...
