The idea is having on-board fuel/storage "in the event of..." What about 2-3 separate transfer tanks? 2 L-shaped tanks mounted "saddle bag" style under the seats and maybe 1 in the center. I have a cargo cover so the only folks knowing anything about it would be those who actually look in/get...
do you recommend that over the oval fuel oil tank that I already have? Able to attach a transfer pump or would that require fab? advantages/disadvantages compared to the metal tank?
Looking into putting a 250 gal fuel oil tank in the front of the bed between the seats. Been looking for threads about this and nothing that I've seen (yet) is quite what I'm looking to do. Got a pm in to a guy who was talking about doing it with a 300 gal tank but haven't heard anything back...
Would those of you who have done the relocation mods mind posting pics? I have relocated the 3 axle vent caps via hose to the top rear of the cab on my A2 and was told by a vet at the O'Reilly's parts counter that they also turn them down. I have yet to do the transmission and transfer case...
Got a question on the alcohol inspirator - just got my deuce this summer - new to owning a MV. Don't know what to do with it. Do I just put alcohol in it? Can't seem to find anything in a TM about it. Also, rustystud, you mentioned not even using it anymore? Does it cause problems? Where...
Got the trailers home last week. Thanks to everyone for all your help. Put one on a flatbed car hauler behind a pickup and pulled the other with the deuce. Only problems were with the deuce's fuel system for 2 days. The in-tank pump started takin' a crap on the way back makin' the high...
Also, patracy, here are the pics of the cans from the website. Are you able to tell if they have the t bolts? Thanks for all the help guys. Sorry for all the questions but 9+ hours from home is a long way if I don't bring what I need with me.
Ok, got the legalities figured out. Since I've taken to basically monopolizing this thread, here's one more. I was under the impression that these trailers are 8 ft. (96") wide. Govplanet says they're 7. Other site says 8. Which is correct? Mainly interested in wheelbase.
Just need to do one as I will be pulling the other with the deuce. Trying to borrow a friends flatbed for the other so the other truck will have brakes but in the event i'm not able to, I would need to know how. Pics would be great. Thanks so much! Also, for pulling these back home, do they...
Thanks guys, you've been unbelievably awesome. I think I'm just going to opt 2 go with two vehicles in one trip. Talking to a friend of mine who has hauled in the states I'm going to be traveling and I don't feel like dealing with overzealous Ohio State Troopers and possible overload or wide...
How is taking the tires off with the central inflation system? Any idea the width of the hubs with the wheels off? Would it even fit "inside" the bed? Hauling 7200 and towing 7200 would be better, I agree. Does anyone have a high-rez pic of the data plates with the tie-down and dimension...
Hey folks, new to the site and owning military vehicles and need some help/advice from those of you who have hauled these trailers before. I've got 2 of them (1082's) to move about 500 miles. Towing with a deuce. Been trying to find a flatbed trailer big enough to move them both together but...
