We had problems with deuce engines in Southeast Asia, but it was mainly 18 year olds red-lining the engines to avoid ambushes (or try to get out of them). At one point they shut down the production line for complete trucks just so they could ship engines (by air) to replace the ones that blew...
The Hercules/White engine was used in farm tractors (Oliver line) and they lasted 9,000-12,000 hours before a rebuild, but were hardly ever revved above 2200 rpm's. How many hours on your engine? 9000 hours at 40 mph is 360,000 miles.
What part of Georgia are you in? Reason I ask is that I have a couple of MEP-002 engines of unknown operating condition, but appear complete located in the Columbia, SC area.
We just got back from the Monroe, NC Air show, the next event we are scheduled for is the Battle of Aiken in late February. There is an upstate group in Greenville-Spartanburg affiliated with the MVPA. I don't know how active they are.
The wire comes out the bottom of the shaft on the front of the steering gear. The wire that goes up in the shaft has a seal on the bottom. Try to trace the wire from the horn across the engine compartment over to the bottom of the steering column and you will find it. The -24, -24&P manuals...

The larger diameter of the pipe will reduce back pressure, so, if I were doing it about every 8 to 10 feet the pipe diameter would be increased by 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, starting right at the generator. Probably want to go up first. You will still have to deal with wet stacking on a long run -...
Stephan Wood Products in Michigan makes the fiberglass troop seat slats and they come pre-drilled. They also do special orders for custom lengths. There are threads from several years ago about them.
One of the main reasons I'm passing the MKT along to younger folks is the maintenance between uses. When I was in my 60's I could open up (for use) an MKT in an hour by myself, and close it up for travel in the same amount of time. Now that I'm in my upper 70's each job takes twice as long and...
It's going to be in the VRC series (Vehicle Radio Control). There is one for just about every configuration of vehicle mounted radio. Look for a VRC-10 manual and then you will find out how to find the specific one you need.

The TM numbering system follows a VERY LOGICAL pattern. First two characters stand for Technical Manual, first number stands for the branch of the Army responsible, for trucks and generators it's "9" for Ordnance, the next four digits are the FSC number (Federal Supply Code) 2320...
