I shall be going to maine rally and will bring recent Bobbed Deuce which will be for sale. Good running and Fun to drive. Also have a 1 1/2 ton trl to go with the Deuce. Looks like I shall have a price of $3300.00 for all. Phil
Deuces Wild. You don't need a Gun rack. We used to hang our M16s on the Wing nut on the Left side drivers windshield. Try it, perfect place for quick retrieval.
alternator Mod
That is quite a Piece of Work avengeusa! I got a Delco for one of my Deuces and found it easier to make a Bracket from scratch with a 2x3/8 in flat stock Drilled 2 holes to mount to Block, and 2 drilled 2in pcs for alt. Pully on alt. matched up well. One wire to bat. is all...
Thanks alot Jones. I have been looking throught the technical data and cannot find anything useful. I guess I will go to a truck parts place and try to match up a PTO which I can use. Phil
I need the Model and Make for 5ton trans on a M818 Tractor. I got to get a Right side PTO to convert to a Dump. As many times as I have heard it mentioned, I cannot remember what it it. Thanks, Phil
Well I had an eye opener last week. Am putting a Dump body on my M818 and thought I can use the PTO from a Deuce with a Winch. A NO NO! Teath on gear is angled wrong. Now I must locate a PTO for Right side of Trans. I have several Civy PTO.s but too small, won't clear trans housing. Good job on...
Multiful Deuce
DITO Boatcarpenter. Multifuel means just that, how nice it is to be able to use alternative fuels in this day. I have several Deuces and several 6bt's Cummins around and I could change power plants very easy, but it is not in the cards. On reliability, I have not seen a Blown...
Maine Rally Yes!
Hey guys, I'm in for a rally in maine. I have thought about one here in N.H., but haven't got any farther than that. Phil. PS' I got a 1986 m1028 with 69000 miles on it for sale. Good driver and been running it all winter. Looking to get $2800.00 for it. Also going to Bob a...
You better read up on Multltifuels fefore making any changes. There is nothing more Economical than running a Multi with used motor oil, old gas Trans fluid. heating oilor even out dated cooking oil. Learn more about this engine before you Condemn it. Phiil
I have been running this truck all winter and it runs good. License tags expire this month and I must sell it to get Cash for a Dozer I am buying. It is a 1986 Motor replaced in 2001 and all works good. Starts good even at -5 degrees. Good tires all around and clean int. PM me Price is $2700.00...
I am not sure, but if I remember right there is a Ground wire, or a Hot wire near the Batts. at the Pass side Radiator support U should check. I will know more in another day, I got a 1008 comming in to be repaired with the same problem, but it is Intermittent. I shall keep U posted, Phil
Lance , I was going to tell you to check Trans. Bolts, but it seems you found that out!! I can't tell you how to tighten the bolts without removal of Trans. Check it out good and see if you can get a wrench in there, even if you have to Heat up the Wrench and Bend it to your Desire. I have many...
Red wires are Hot. Purple wires usually represent Solenoid, or Start wire. Somewhere these wires may be Touching or Rewired wrong at some time. Never know what some people do to Modify something. Good luck, Phil
Be sure the Starter is Tight and secured. I have gone to change starter and fount the starter Bolts Loose, which will cause starter to Bind. Be sure to replace the End Support, if it is even there. # out of 3 that I have had, did not have the support. The ARMY is TOO lazy to replace them . Phil
Jaytee. actually when I repaired the Bad Block, I had Welded the Tail of the Starter to the Dust cover over the Tourque converter. Aluminum, To aluminum. I later had to Change the starter, so I just had to remove the Dust Cover with the starter, No Problem!! I just used the Tail on the New...
I have been driving a 1997 Dodge 2500 W/ Cummins, 5spd. since 1997. I removed the muffler in 1998, not too loud, I gained 4MPG and it sounds great! There are Shorty mufflers or a Resonator that can be installed in an M818 instead of original muffler at a much cheaper price, like $36.00. A...
Has anyone noticed how a 6.2 will Kick Back sometimes when trying to start? I think this is what causes the bolts to Break. I got a truck where the Corner Ear broke off the Block. I was able to repair it and ran it a few years. There is Lots of Tourque in these starters . I think Timing on the...
