So got it all removed only to find out that the back plate is rusted and pitted behind the water pump. I do not see the point of reusing this plate as I feel that it will only ruin the new water pump with rust particles, but evidently you cannot buy one of those around here over the weekend and...

OK... Im seriously stuck now... I have taken off the radiator and fan, but cannot get the pulley off the water pump so that I can get the pump off. Is there a trick to removing this pulley? There is a bolt behind the pulley that I cannot get to without removing it that holds the water pump on.

Question... would overfilling the transmission fluid possibly be a cause for this? Also if so, would draining some out fix the issue or will I need to go through the whole thing as I've been reading on the Vampire issue? I just checked my fluids and the transmission fluid is still overfull even...

So I started working on my water pump today and while at it decided to check the air filter. I did not even get the filter out before I realized what I think may be signs of some kind of an issue.
