if your changing the oil anyway you might want to throw in some lucas oil or marvel mysery oil just for good measure

i dont see a problem its a 40 year old military vehicle with old gaskets. Just check the oil before you use it and do your PM checks as per the TM Lube Schedule. If you start running around fixing every little thing your going to drive yourself nuts.
