What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Apply a direct 12 volts to the IP fuel solenoid-it should click. If not, it is probably bad. Could still be bad if it clicks, but next step try the following. Rig up a 1 gallon jug with clean diesel, a fuel line from jug to injection pump(plus small fuel filter if desired). Hang the jug from...

    M1008 retro build

    M1008 retro build

Been a little while, 60+hrs of work a week hasn't helped, lost brakes in my deuce as well... But got the wiring harness removed, steering column out, I have a standard column to go in and a factory harness for the 292 to go in. I am waiting on an adapter for my manifold to carburetor to finish...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Some states allow the use of the "military large truck license" instead of requiring a CDL. Not the typical case with a Deuce as it is below the 26,001 CDL weight requirement. Us regular Civilians though would require a CDL to operate a 5 ton or bigger though(if properly registered at the...

Brake system Work, what to look for?

I had a spare air pack, that was relatively clean, and I was hoping to rebuild, but the bore ended up having some pitting, making it worthless. I didn't realize these were so hard to find now, seemed like everyplace had them for $500 a couple years ago. Anyways, I got the air-pack all cleaned...

Brake system Work, what to look for?

Everything was tight and clean at the beginning of the season (late April) however I do plan on double checking after getting the air pack and master cylinder squared away. I have a new master cylinder waiting to go in, but it looks like at this time, my whole issue was with the air-pack...

Brake system Work, what to look for?

I will be going through my brake system in the coming weeks. I will be looking for insight and advice as I go through the system.(sorry for long post, but want to be thorough) Truck is a 1952 M35 with Reo OA-331, everything stock except added reverse lights and a 12 volt converter. Brakes were...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I used 1/2 gallon when I did a flush and fill on my truck. I didn't flush much as I did all new wheel cylinders, master, and air pack. I also need up redoing lines after as well. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

No Brakes at all - pedal goes to floor

my thought was I would lose fluid or all brakes if it was the master...but I guess I'm not 100% sure. I need to find a way to get it home first.

No Brakes at all - pedal goes to floor

**So, I'm going to add to this, as I lost pedal in my truck this afternoon, If the Moderators feel This should be a separate thread, please move.** I do still have "brakes" it will hold on an incline, but I'm probably only 1/2" from floor. No Fluid loss(that I can see in reservoir, pumping...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finally got around to removing the door latch assembly from the drivers door. It was in desperate need of lubrication, and twice last week left me unable to open the door. I didn't take any during pictures. But I had to replace most of the screws because the heads were either stripped out, or...

M44 headlight doors.. how many different styles are there?

I thought the gasser grille was taller, because if you used the multi-fuel side hood panels it left a large gap?, maybe I was mis-informed...

M44 headlight doors.. how many different styles are there?

Just adding my thoughts. the early headlight doors attached to the truck with 6 vibration isolation mounts, the headlight mounted solid the the head light doors, and (from my limited selection) used the stainless trim ring and outer "beauty ring" combo. The later headlight doors mounted to the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

M-715, 1/4 way through restoration, its on the back burner as I go through and finish some other projects. The blue trailer does house a lot of parts for my one of my other projects-VW aircooled bugs and buses...can never have enough projects, especially if you get them cheap to start.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Moved her, about 5 ft to the right and at a 45 degree angle... prepping to take her out for her first voyage of the season...less then 3/4 inch gas in the tank prevented me from running up to the station for some petrol. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

    M1008 retro build

Got some more work done, had to completely rework the headers, lost a few nights fixing that... but it's fixed, and clears the frame now. On to some more important stuff... Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Gillespie paint is another good paint, matches factory paint the best, this is either online order, or sometimes at local military shows. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

    M1008 retro build

Tires, used, but good enough to get me by for a little while. Cab back down in its correct spot. And another trinket for the engine. Hoping tomorrow is good enough to get some more things done tomorrow, lost some time replacing the pinion yoke and u-joints in my other truck. Sent...

    M1008 retro build

It's on top of the factory paint, my thought was replacement frame? Couldn't find any reference to the numbers though. Definitely first time I've seen it, but most around here have some significant rust as well... Thanks, I seriously thought going back to stock, but would have needed an engine...
