The support bar was pretty much rusted in half. There wasn't even a pintle on it when I bought it, just a liscense plate holder. If it wasn't complete crap I would definitely hook you up.
I can get to the nut to cut it off, but then how would I tighten the new bolts that I'm going to put in...
So here's the deal, I did a search a couple different ways and terms, and after reading through a few worthless posts here's my dilemma. I'm putting a reciever hitch on my m1009, but there are a couple bolts on the rear bumper that need to come out and I'm just wondering if anyone has a useful...
That's lucky you had someone to help with that toomuchjosh, I wouldn't have thought to check that either. I had a similar sound once, mine was a lot more at idle though. Turned out to be the starter heat shield had completely came off the mount and was bouncing on the starter. Might be...
When I did my wheel bearings the same part broke on mine. I had to order it from Autozone(or Advance?) from their website. I couldn't find a single place that had it at the store. Pretty cheap though, $9 for 2 of them. I've actually got an extra one from that job, so if you get yours in and...
When mine ran out of diesel I had to bleed it with a manual syphon pump. I just attatched one end to the output nipple on the fuel filter and the other I ran into a rubbermaid pitcher. Just pumped away until I had fuel mostly clear of bubbles coming through. Saved my batteries a lot of cranking!
Sanded and painted the dash and doors with some fresh 383. Also painted the door cards with black vinyl paint from advance auto. Looks like a whole new interior minus my f%*&^% up dash!
I just did this same thing a couple weeks ago! My suggestion is to get either a siphon pump or hand bulb pump to get the fuel to the filter before trying the cranking method or you'll kill you're batteries. Just my .02
I used the TM diagram a little bit, mostly when I took it apart i just set everything in the order I pulled it out in. Wish I could be of more help, I'm sure you'll get it easy enough.
The only tools you'll really need is the axle nut socket(at autozone it's called the 1/2 ton axle nut socket, basically a big socket with 4 little teeth coming off it) and some snap ring pliers for the snapring on the end of the axle. I just did all 4 corners of my 1009
Looking good! Just curious, I've heard a couple people talk about the Herculiner smell in the heat, even after it cures. Does yours smell a lot? I wonder if the Bed-Armor stuff is pretty much the same?
