As someone who has bought their fare share of trucks from GSA you were very lucky. Everyone I have gotten was full of the most rotten fuel I have ever seen, worked on by idiot mechanics from Fire Depts and nowhere near roadworthy. You were very lucky.
Nice truck. I love the one I have. What I...
I have a heater from a Deuce which I believe is the same as my M52a1 would use but for the life of me I can't see where I would hook up heater hoses on the engine. Mine has a Mack ENDT 673 and I could not find any TM covering a heater with this engine.
I have an air shift Transfer case. Condition is unknown as I got the truck with a blown clutch and could not drive it.
I sold the transmission already. Also have a complete set of Deuce driveshafts.
when you swapped the IP, did you use the same ESO solenoid ?
Mine did something very similar and it was a bad shut off. I would have suggested turning the override screw in on it .
I fixed it tonight. it was a bad ground. The flasher box has two bolts holding it to the firewall and has two ground wires on one of the bolts. Those looked fine but as soon a I turned the bolt the lights started blinking so they need a cleaning but it's working for now. I would have snapped a...
I'm gonna be one of the new vendors although it's really just to try and sell off some stuff so may be for this year only. I have a Deuce I am parting out so here's the big stuff I can bring:
Air shift Transfer case
Hood
Side hood panels
Like new radiator
Starter
Fuel tank with pump and brackets...
OK, just finished the same job. Rather than do my own thread, I'm gonna add some notes to this one. First off the TM's are a royal PIA.
This TM has all the info but it's scattered about...
the washer in front of the axle tube seal, chamfer facing in or out. I missed that when taking it apart and see no reference in the TM.
Edit: as per Adam's performance and Rockwell off road it faces out toward axle joint however Rockwell said most trucks don't even have that chamfer .
if anyone could direct me to the proper TM for the torque specs.
Saw this vid on youtube. Would have done a few things different but it is very good at showing what's in there but I would support the truck better and not use a hammer on the axle tube seal. Also I would suggest the proper...
But is was a ford...nuff said...
I did like those old High boys. I converted my 77 ford to a Diaphragm style pressure plate. Made a big difference on the leg strain.
