Almost forgot, finished up my turbo exhaust and completed my interior upgrades (seat frame repair and new floormats with sound deadener).
All chromey and shooting out the side like all the cool kids do these days.
Edit: and polished my rims. They were 4 years of nasty.

2 down @ 55. Only A/C I knew about until momma got her new suburban.
I'd get a new truck but they don't come with crotch coolers any more (vent windows for the politically correct in the crowd).

Yeah it's a serious problem ;)
That's what I thought, open cell foam like that isn't good at keeping water in /out of anything (works exactly like a sponge). Now a closed cell foam (like the high density stuff they use under houses) would work great. It would both seal out water and deaden...
Turbo almost completed today.
Also, figured out why so many Chevy cabs rust out in the corners.... The strip caulk used to seal the body seams shrinks and cracks, allowing moisture to collect in the cab corners. Second pic is me fixing this issue.
Never seen a write-up on this before, is...
Patched a rust hole behind my drivers side door and coated the corners of my cab inside with cosmoline type product.

Drove from NOLA to ATL yesterday. Yeah it whines at 60m mph but at least the weatherstrip whistle is gone :D
Next is new floormat or bed liner in the cab.
Write-up of vent widow and door weatherstripping install is posted. It's a draft with the few pictures I had and all the video links plus parts and tools. If you'd like to see more, tell me what you want on that thread and I'll take pictures and add them as I complete the second side today...
Yeah mine too. This is a moving blanket of unknown origin.
There's interest so I'll post complete steps with pictures as soon as the rain lets up and I can finish the other side of the truck. I'll post a link in this thread to the write up when complete.
Today is weatherstripping...
Already did the door seals around the pinch weld on the cab, now cleaning up the vent window frames while I wait on FedEx for the new vent window seals. Pics likely to follow in a separate thread if there's any interest.
This site and YouTube. The speedometer cable will have some resistance but it should slide out if you give it a gentle pull (only tip I didn't get from the referenced links).

Tore out my dash to replace lights yesterday. One burned fuse, a shorted wire, and lots of cleaning and cussing later I can see how slow I'm moving at night!
