I was really excited to get out and drive bigboy for a few miles today since I finally fixed the air horn problem. Everything was great! Wrong!!!!! I started him up and what do ya know he won't build air past 59 psi. So I shut him down and heard air coming out of the intake stack.(video) This is...

    Air horn woes

Thanks for the advice. I did get the horns working again, by buying a new replacement horn switch. One thing I noticed on the replacement was that there isn't a diode or resistor on it as the old one I took out and the used one I bought had. I would try disconnecting that first in the future.

    M923 air filter upgrade?

I recently picked up some stuff I bought from Gl and have been toying with removing the factory filter canister and installing this one. It's 4"longer and 2" wider. I know I have some fabricating to do, but I think I'll like doing that. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

    Air horn woes

I got back at it today, and this is what I found. 1) I made a jumper cable from solenoid to horn switch, horn did not blow at 60 or above psi. 2) I reconnected the fusible link/diode and the plugged 25 back into horn switch, horn blew. 3) I detached 25 from the horn switch then jumped to steering...

I have the itch for the five ton

Welcome aboard to the heavy green machine, I would suggest that no matter what truck you decide on purchasing. Do a complete and total walk through. All systems, air, coolant, oil, horn, lights, and transmission/transfer case. Test the brakes, any and all of these systems can give you nightmares and...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Your truck only builds psi to 108? It should build to 125 in both tanks. If it doesn't you still have issues.

    Air horn woes

Ok, I did all the tests that were suggested and even made a seperate wire from the solenoid to the horn switch. The horn didn't blow at 60, but at 120 I pushed the horn button and it still didn't work. I redid the Doghead test and it said the wire was grounding somewhere. But by bypassing that...

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

One other thing I would absolutely love to see is a search function for posts inside of a particular thread. Say I want to know about bed dimensions. I get to the 5 ton and up thread and search in that thread only, not all threads together.Just another thought.

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

I understand that, Just throwing my thoughts out. But I still believe that a feedback tab would be beneficial. A quick link if you will.

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

I would remove one of the links (member map)possibly and add the feedback tab. I've been looking for feedback of other members that purchase from me before I mail items to them and of yet everyone has been a stand up and dependable person. But I'd still like to have a quick access to those...
