What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I changed all shocks on my ´09 today, the old ones were totally worn out, you could push them down by hand and they wont ever come back up. I aswell changed the steering one. The left one on the rear was a mess to get out all other came off pretty easy. No more "basketball" when going through...

Well I think its actual size isn´t that unnormal compared to a BMW X5 or those GT series, VW Touareg or Porsche Cayenne ...I think its more the fact that its old, dirty, rugged ..and loud :D but yeah small cars are normal here ...some people even call ford rangers "big american pickup trucks" ...

welcome tonkasal since we had lots of rain during the last days and dry roads and the end of the day (all the salt they spent on the little snow we had was washed away) I decided to wake my ´09 up. Took the truck to the gas station, got some diesel and a sip of 2stroke oil and then we went to...

Hey, When I did differential Fluid on my ´09 I had so scratch about 2 hrs with a ceran-field scratcher to remove some sort of silicone (they used the same to seal the transmission etc.) also no metal pieces etc. in it but some metal "dust" ...I just put in the gasket and tightened it up...

Its a solid ~5mm steel wall...Cab is closed, but someone put speakers in the wall and I decided to put a canvas over them. So you dont see them from outside and to protect them from rain if I drive without Hardtop (I like the pickup style, so mostly in the summer the hardtop is taken off) heres...

today I spontanously decided to do a rattle-can paintjob on my '09 ...I ordered the wrong green (noticed after the camo spot I repainted had dried) and therefor I thought it might be better looking if I change it all..ordered some more cans and now it looks like this...its a unique camo pattern...

My M1009 is registered as Truck aswell... I could now buy every year a overhauled engine & transmission from the money I save...I dont want to go for historical plate...too much restrictions. Now as truck its about the same costs per year as my Audi... I had a headlight bulb go bad, replaced...

Today I took the M1009 to a washing-place, will put her to "wintersleep" soon...I expect the annoying moving salt shakers to come out of their holes the next days...we do have around 3°C now at night... but she still fires right up when the glowing light goes out. As soon as we have a nice...

let me answer this aswell: Over here such "light" Trucks with a 6.2 V8 Diesel equipped are just not common (or any other motor bigger than a 3.0tdi). Wherever I take my CUCV it gets attention like a real monster-truck .... even when I bring it to work (we do have 100t excavators & 120t quarry...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Today I took my M1009 to a local Motocross hall (yes, Indoor Offroad) and did some "light" offroading through the course... sometimes they let "Cars" on the track and I took the chance to get my CUCV dirty. But I soon noticed thats its not there for Trucks (small ramps and stuff, had to go in...

Since I drive my M1009 now almost daylie (way to construction site/quarry is just perfect for my CUCV, no Highway and about 25 miles one way + "fun" roads in the quarry) I noticed a coolant Leak, about 4-5 drops a day (visible on garage floor) so I crawled under it and found out I have a bad...

I keep it clean, but its not a pavement queen :P just fixing things here & there, not aiming for a full restoration yet, as long as its still driveable and passes inspections...
