    Disc Brake Engineering Thread

I know its a thread necro, but anyone that has done the disc swap. What did you use for brakes hoses for the front and rear? I'm working on mine conversion and its time for hoses. I could have customs made by my local hydraulic shop but I'd rather be able to go to napa and get something.

Decision on a knuckle boom crane.

When you go to park the crane you lift the second cylinder elbow section a few inches off the parking mount. (In this position there is ~3" above the solenoids) But as the arm shoulder cylinder swings the arm its starts moving in a arc as it extends, I tried to retract the arm extension cylinder...

Decision on a knuckle boom crane.

After trying so many ways of parking the crane I found that sadly, I can't get crane to clear the solenoids and pump, When the crane is parked it clears the box with room to spare. But in the swing of the closing motion it will crush the solenoids. So I'll have to ditch the solenoids and go to...

Decision on a knuckle boom crane.

Picked up another HF54 yesterday as a backup for cheap still need to get the first one in. But started working on knuckleboom again and found my control box might be too tall when I go to fold the crane. Hopefully I just need to move the parking pawl on the crane up so it sits up higher. As...

    Crane Ideas?

Well its a 1500lbs autocrane 8005, much smaller than my old liftmore 3200, but much lighter than my hiab 650 knuckleboom (1500lbs vs 2800lbs) I've started drawing up a mount that comes up through the bed with 3x3x1/4" square tube with a 1/2" top plate. With two side cross tube going under the...

Decision on a knuckle boom crane.

Its been months but I finally got a chance to work on the crane again last night! Fixing some wiring problems I made the first time, and trying to figure out a pressure problem I was having, (and still having) on the swing cylinders jumping I'm thinking one of my flow valves is not working...

Well thought I might bring this back up, had a whole post typed up and chrome crashed.. In less words than I was typing before. How do you guys think one could make a bed dump and have a crane mounted in the traditional service truck location (rear bed corner)? I was thinking a subframe with...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I put press plugs in the holes on the back of my cab, now to fine an assortment on amazon to plug the holes in the dash. I had to chase the holes with a 5/8" drill bit to clean out the excess paint. The plugs are 5/8"(16mm)

Decision on a knuckle boom crane.

Switched and estops came, the project boxes and switch guards are trapped in the mail room limbo till next week. Broke the cylinder I had for my old dump trailer project out to design a 3 link dewey style scissor hoist for the dump bed. And got some more 3d printers at work.

    M35a2 automatic transmission swap?

Well I don't know if there was any damage to the valve body on the MT643, guess I'll find out once I drop the pan. Though trying to find a new pan as been a task. guess I'll try to hammer the pan out since I've found only one place that has it in stock and its $400.
