Ever see inside the Protective Control Box?

Here's my redone box: White wires are just grounds going to the case. I saw another one on here that just had the grounds daisy chained, but I don't like doing that. It's the amateur radio operator in me. Diodes are 1N5408. On the side with the 2 blue crimp on ring terminals, there is a...

Ever see inside the Protective Control Box?

I just finished rebuilding my PCB, two brand new solenoids, and got rid of the circuit board. The truck fires right up now(no more beating on the box with a hammer). I'll post pictures of it a little later on. I pretty much followed what a few others have done on here. I'm glad I didn't...

Issue starting 2007 AM GENERAL M923

I think it is impossible to start a 2007 M923 made by AM General.

    Fire Extinguishers in our MVs

Thank you for that. I guess a standard commercial bracket for the extinguisher aren't like the military brackets at all...My commercial bracket doesn't line up with any of the side cover screws at all.

Ever see inside the Protective Control Box?

The fuel solenoid isn't working. When I hit the box with the hammer, it kicks on then. When I flip the main power switch, the gauges come on, and that's it. ABS, warning buzzer, and fuel solenoid kick on when I flip the run switch(when it works).

Ever see inside the Protective Control Box?

Here's the inside of my PCB: Have we established a way of getting rid of the circuit board? I've seen some very clean looking boxes with just the two solenoids and a couple of diodes attached to them. With my truck, the main power switch would activate the one solenoid just fine, but the...

    Battery charger for a 923

Well, went out today to see if I could figure out what was wrong with this, and apparently it drained my batteries somehow, now I need to go borrow my friends big charger again. Gotta figure out how I return this battery tender to Amazon...and get another one that isn't defective.

    New good quality block heater?

I just searched for that number on Napa's website(the 8.3L number), including interchange and came up with no results. Sure it's the right number?

    Battery charger for a 923

Ok...ran the heater for a couple of hours now, the cab is toasty(with battery hatch open). Plugged the battery tender in, and we've got an intermittent yellow light. It's not "flashing", its more of a pulse. Here's a youtube video of what it is doing: http://youtu.be/jkBoeBtsBGs My other...

    Battery charger for a 923

The truck started just fine(no ether or coolant heater), so I doubt they are frozen..it's just be being worrisome because it's 19 degrees out and I hate the cold .

    Battery charger for a 923

I literally just got done installing this in my truck about 20 minutes ago. I've been using a battery tender on my car and my motorcycle for years. I can't plug the truck in just yet though, it hasn't been above freezing for 4 days, I'm worried the batteries might be frozen. EDIT: Just read...

    Fire Extinguishers in our MVs

Can someone post a close up of how they have a 5lb extinguisher mounted in a M939 series on the shift tower? My truck never had one there, so I'm attempting to mount one, but can't figure out how to position the bracket without interfering with the shifting components/mounting of the side...

Took a Deuce on the beach today.

Every vehicle I've ever driven on the beach has always got its undercarriage rinsed off after. Every vehicle I've ever taken on the beach has needed new universal joints shortly after it's beach excursion. I am hesitant to take my M923 on the beach because of this...I don't want to get into...

Took a Deuce on the beach today.

I've spent some time in your town  Lived for a bit in Delray Beach, used to ride my DRZ-400 down through Deerfield when I'd go out cruising. Had some good times in quite a few local adult drinking establishments there too  Bru's Room, Friday happy hour at the Cove(my favorite!) and...

    Pressure washing inside the cab?

I took the rubber mat out of my truck and put it directly in the trash. It was obvious it contributed greatly to the rusty floor(a few holes) that I had to repair. I still need to get some rubber individual floor mats(like weather tech ones or something similar) just to keep the dirt/mud off...

My tank is vented...and the vent goes into the intake stack.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Finished installing a new blower motor and blower motor wheel. I have heat now! Also fixed some incorrect wiring of the parking lights/marker lights. Not sure when it was done, but someone had their hands in the wiring because it was all duct taped together. The wire for the marker lights...

    Snow Plow Mount

I wish I had a snow plow setup on my M923. Could definitely make some money with that...in addition to plowing my own driveway that takes hours with a snow blower. I think the fab work on the mount is a bit out of my welding abilities. Would want one that I can completely remove with pins.
