    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

I did notice the tape but wasn’t sure based on this sole photo. If that’s a terminal then that should share the pos post on the innermost everlast correct? If it starts then i’m assuming that disconnected 24v lead is coming from the alternator?

Ok rog yeah I see it now. That lone terminal bottom right off the bolted together grounds threw me off but boy is it jury rigged…

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Yeah so was trying to figure out if they essentially converted to two batts and just left the hawkers there or if a pos and neg terminal just needed to be connected to the hawkers. I found the diagram for the two batt setup which is what I plan to convert to but still looking for a 4 batt diagram.

Trying to grasp what is going on here in this pic so I can be better prepared to unscrew it up.

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Yeah makes sense although there are several 5 tons being auctioned at this location and most have/had driveshafts disconnected so not too sure.

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

yeah valid point although I did submit EUC paperwork last week but still really quick from what I have seen. And yes I did see the yoke chipped so expecting to add some metal there and maybe retap those threads, doesn’t seem like a big deal and for the batteries, I did see the two standard batts...

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Well crap…EUC approved the same day I submit payment so now I’m scrambling. I REALLY wanna try to limp this thing home but understand what you guys are saying. I don’t know the cost of transport but I imagine it’s not cheap at all. Still need to call some local companies to see if they could...

    Missing SF97 Info

Yeah thanks I will have to do some more digging to see what GA requires. I did confirm with the tag office that they will accept the SF97 for titling and I will be able to get an out of state officer to verify the “VIN” to get it registered. Really didn’t want to bring it to GA for this.

    Missing SF97 Info

I wonder if that's where I should have them change it to RV since that's what I intend to use it as.

    Missing SF97 Info

Thank you for the reply, I should have specified I will be titling/registering it in GA. I am active military stationed in MD and definitely never plan on registering any vehicle here! What do most use for body type?

I just posted a question in the ”EUC Help“ forum if anyone might know the answer on missing info when applying for SF97.

    Missing SF97 Info

I just won an auction for an FMTV M1088A1 and when filling out the SF97, some information is there and some are left blank. Do all of these fields need to be filled in? I have everything except for Body Style, Weight, and GVWR. Also curious if the information I put here could help me in the...

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Thanks I thought the same, exterior appears to be in great shape. Interior will need a little love. The fact that the engine starts and runs gives me a little piece of mind over a no crank but will take some troubleshooting. Eager to get it home where I can start wrenching.

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Yes there is a video but unable to download it to share. Sounds like could be an injection knock possibly but hard to tell in the video. I was thinking could be a small air leak also which I intend to test after checking filters. I have a similar style primer bulb on my Duramax that gave me...

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Hello everyone, I have been waiting to make this post and hoped it would happen soon which today turned out to be THE DAY beginning my first MV journey. I'm not entirely new to MVs as I have been active duty going on 14 yrs now although as an aircraft mechanic, so a bit different kind of...

    M1088 camper conversion

Very cool, I’m looking to create my own body if I can ever secure a 1088 to build it on. Looks like you may be using Google Sketchup for the design? Also is that a lift gate on the rear or a fold down platform?

    M1088 camper conversion

Thank you that would be awesome, I have a pretty extensive background in 3D modeling as a hobbyist so modifying wouldn't be a problem. If it's easier, maybe you could share over google docs in the meantime since I imagine the file is rather large? Also any additions I make I would be happy to...

Where did you find the CAD files for the truck or would you be able to share those too?
