Well, I went and did it again. I bought another MEP005 in West Orange NJ. Now I should have taken a Deuce or my International cargo truck. Well the deuces had dead batteries, the International has a radiator leak. All four one ton trucks I have were on jobs, soooooo, why not I decided to take...
HELP , if any one is going to be at the show with m54 body parts. I NEED a pair of fenders and battery compartment . I had originally made a deal with a vender on this site for the parts , but I was just informed he did not bring them. I need these parts urgently . Message me if your going...
I drive my M35 , but only to tick off the Prius driving tree huggers. As for a daily driver, well if you want to be broke and deaf, then its your choice. The noise in the cab is beyond OSHA recommended limits, it loves to drink fuel and everything costs four times as much. Now I have a M1009...
It might have passed out. I had two break off and its bits were in the muffler when I dropped the exhaust down. Its only when the pressed in prechambers come loose and are rattling around that you know your screwed. Thats why you NEVER use STARTING FLUID !
It figures I end up with a freak . And it figures too that this mangled and bent pipe has no rust. Its too bend and kinked to try and make a copy. I would love to take the truck over get the pipe bent and fitted, but sad to say, the nearest place that bends or makes pipes is well over 40 miles...
Well , I am slowly repairing my M54A1 with the Mack engine. Well it was in the accident before I got it. It's a J pipe with a flange on one end. I have called Eastern Surplus, and several others, no go. Called Memphis Equipment , they told me they had it, I asked several times , are they sure...
Beat the damaged fender out with a sledge hammer, pulled the bent exhaust with a cable and my utility truck. Installed a new set of gauges and a CB radio.
Try jumping the power from the battery to the solenoid on the starter with a piece of wire. If it engages, its the circuits in the generator starter control. If it does not, its the starter or solenoid. Just make sure you have power at the battery connection on the starter with a volt meter.
The TH400 is a tough transmission. Buy one built for towing and offroad use with a heavy duty torque converter and you have a real workhorse. If its fuel savings you want, add a turbo to the 6.2 and buy the fuel efficiency valve body for the TH400. It changes the shift points but you loose the...
I have dealt with them back when they were a small operation next to a paper mill. Not where they are today, I always used to get a good deal. Their prices got a little higher on some of what I used to buy, but thats the world today. Plus I am cheap,
From my dodge fleet days the steering box should fit. You might have to swap the pitman arm, while your there check the pitman arm seals for leakage. We added power steering to a 1970 W200 from a W300 , but the W300 was custom built for forestry fire use. They had a dropped arm to accommodate...
That truck would be a good running project. Head gasket changes are super simple on those old engines. I miss the days when you could start and finish a head job in a day. I have a continental in a M45 here, it's one of the few military trucks I have that does 65 and likes it. They have a...
They are common, I cheated and converted my dash to an actual oil pressure gauge by using three clusters for parts. Added in led back light bulbs for effect.
Changed the oil, all 32 quarts of it. Cleaned the 673 engine down and replaced the oil sensor. Replaced the gas gauge and dash bulbs. Installed a new horn button.
TCI makes one heavy duty TH400 replacement , but the last one I bought was $1400.00 complete with fluids and torque converter. They had a towing / HD transmission I installed in our 3500 Chevy that had a 6.2 with a banks turbo. It's still going and shifting smooth 7 years later with about 80k...
You ran low on fluid, now from lack of fluid during that time you damaged the the torque converter , and your first gear clutches. Are likely burnt. Not to mention the vanes in the pump are worn. I hate to say it, but your leak cooked it. As your dip stick sets the fluid level, I do not see a...
