    M923/A1 New acquisition

Thes pics are just some during pics. The first one is where we had cut the front of the bed off. The second one (the sideways one) is the exhaust setup before high heat paint. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th are of the interior as it was getting painted white. As you can see the outside had not been...

Duel alternator system on a 5ton wiring questions.

OK. Now I have another concern. These are both M923 trucks with Cummins motors. The first one I have, has a v belt setup on the motor. The second one I have, has a serpentine belt setup. Now I think I am even more confused. What other information do you need to help me on my 12v alternator...

Duel alternator system on a 5ton wiring questions.

I know this is somewhat of an old thread, but I have a question. I have searched for some time and am still not 100% sure about the second alternator 12v system. The posts I have read are all about the M35's. What I want to make sure is can I purchase the second alternator bracket for a M923...

Sorry, I got a little busy. Actuators are from www.dcactuators.com and the part number is 6108T. Two of these are needed at $114.00 each. Plumbing parts from the hardware store are somewhere around $20.00. I bought a nozzle from Cascade Fire equipment for $30.00. A mounting plate will need...

This is not from Roscommon's plan, although the adjustable pattern idea was taken from there plans. Here is some of the information

Here are the parts we purchased. There are two swivels that are not pictured, they are on backorder. It also turns out the actuator at the top (small one) is too big. It has a 2" stroke and we only needed .25" stroke. That will adjust the spray pattern.

If that is the case, I'll let you know that we have a side project going. We are making a remote wildland fire monitor that will attach to the bumper. These sell from $5000 and up. I have all the parts, but two pieces sitting by my desk. The total will be around $500.

The exhaust is not done. It is just mocked up. Once the bed is extended, the exhaust brackets will be welded to it.

Here are some more update pics. Some of the interior painted white, the exhaust, the bed front removed, and a new use for the tire hoist.

The trailer I believe is rated at 22000 lbs. Yes this is a heavy load, but these trucks are very capable. The truck has a full military rebuild with about 40 hours on it. ABS, brakes, engine, trans, tires. All in great shape. The truck will be finished first and then weighed. Going off...

Here is a pic of the trailer. I want it to carry at least 2000 gallons of water and be able to stand alone and pump that water.

I didn't notice that until I looked at the bottom of the page at the "Similar Threads". I work for Emergency Services and was an LEO, and in the military. Maybe thats where the word comes from. Also, it's not my personal truck. So I was trying to seperate myself from it. Very funny that...

    M923/A1 New acquisition

Quick update. I found a trailer. The truck is almost done being painted. The bed is on it's way to being cut apart. The exhaust should be done in a couple days. The truck that we are swapping parts from is almost all torn apart. I am still having trouble with pictures, and we have had alot of...

Not sure why, maybe the file size, but I can't get any of the progress pics to upload. Not much done as of yet, though. Undercarriage has been painted black, and bedliner applied to some areas. Drop sides removed and the spare tire and crane removed. LED emergency lights and spot lights...

    M923/A1 New acquisition

I just got back from taking my son to a hospital in Denver, so no progress. This truck will be used as a large brush truck. It will hold 1000 gallon water tank and equipment. Most of the stuff will be swapped from a deuce to this one.
