    MEP-002 problems

Well I finally got back on it today, and got it running. Unpluged the fuel pumps till I found the guilty one and left it unplugged and it fired right up. It's producing 120V at the recepticals. I didn't check the 240V yet but I assume it is fine as well. I was so excited that I got it working...

    does yours stick out?

I think Westech is right. I don't have mine with me today to look at, but the fronts are real close, and the back is no problem at all.

    Tuff Country lift

Nope, they came with 3.08 gears.

    Tuff Country lift

I'm going to try and attach a picture of mine with a 2-1/2" lift & 33x 12.5 BFG Mud Terrains. I think it's a good mix of lift and tire and looks good. My avatar also is the truck if the picture doesn't load. As for the gearing, I'm considering changing the gears in mine to something in the 3.5...

    M1009 Fresh Resto (Combatmech)

Where are all the little dings & dents or as I like to call them "character". That hood does look good on there.

    That looks great.

    16 inch rim for m1009

If you look on ebay right now in the military vehicles section there is a M1009 for sale in CA that is lifted and has 16" rims. I thought it looked pretty cool. The bolt spacing isn't a problem to find on the 16" wheel, the thing you have to be cautious about is the offset of the rim. The...

    Front driveshaft boot

So you don't have to take the yoke off in the future to grease it. Ever accidentally have one of the caps from your universal joint fall off and throw needle bearings all over the floor.

    Front driveshaft boot

I never tried it myself, but see no reason why you couldn't drill and tap a grease fitting onto it while you have it apart.

    Tuff Country lift

I wrestled with the same dilemma recently. Everything I read seemed to point towards the Tuff Country as the best bang for the buck. Very well made springs. I opted for something a little less expensive though and went with the Pro Comp 2-1/2" lift with blocks in the back. I also went with the...

    MEP-002 problems

I didn't take any of the comments personally. I've made mistakes before and I'll make them again, just not the same ones over again. Thanks for the suggestions Speddmon you are a wealth of information on these things from what I have seen. I did find a thread from earlier this year from a...

    MEP-002 problems

Thank you gentlemen. Hopefully my impatience did not do too much damage. I'll find out soon enough. For the record Speddmon I did search this section before posting, but very little popped up. I'll try using different words and see what I find.

    Front driveshaft boot

I just lifted my M1009 and had to replace the whole driveshaft. The new one didn't have the boot nor does any of the civilian ones from what I could tell. The civi ones also have a grease fitting whereas my original did not. That boot works like a CV Joint cover I believe so it's a sealed unit...

    CUCV-II 2000 Crew Cab

CA sales tax is a killer. It's worth what you are willing to pay. I saw that one on there myself, but wouldn't even consider something so far away for me. So is a dually going to be up for sale soon?

    Mep-004

I had the exact same unit and the same issue. If you don't ground the unit to the earth you won't get it to produce power. Get a 8-foot copper grounding rod from any local home improvement warehouse and drive it into the ground. Hook a 2-gauge (or similar) bare copper wire to it and to the...

    Fuel filter change nightmare

I've seen worse. The starter should be rebuilt or replaced. The teeth look pretty mangled. Not sure about the flywheel. You might want to put a 15/16" (I think) deep well socket with a breaker bar on the crank bolt on the front of the motor behind the pulley and turn the motor (clockwise) a...

    Fuel filter change nightmare

For me it made sense to go 12-volt. If you want to add accessories to your truck (radio, off road lights, CB, etc.) then 12-volt is what everything runs on. I've heard people say the 24-volt starters work better on the diesels, but mine starts just fine. When you hit the key to start the truck...

    M1009 oh boy

Ouch! I think I might pull mine and repack em tonight.

    MEP-002 problems

No reason other than only needing one battery to hook up to it when I need to use it. It was more out of curiosity than anything else. As for the idling of the set I wasn't idling at low RPM's. I can't verify exactly what RPM I was idling at but I did have the throttle pulled out so I don't...

    Rebuilt injector pumps - maybe

I appreciate the info, but a little late for me. I bought one for about $75 more a few months ago from Midwest Fuel Injection. They got good reviews from everywhere I could find and they are a Standyne Dealer. I noticed the dealer in the link specifically stated they were not a Standyne dealer...
