    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

This is what the chemical stripper did after an hour and 3 applications/scrapings... It's ok I guess, if you like slow, messy, and burning pain when it touches you. (Kinda like my ex wife.)

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

It's a bit worse than a pin welder/slide hammer... imagine a skid loader ran into the heavy steel tube at the front of your bed and bowed it out 2+ inches. I have a calc test at school then I'm heading out there. I'll show you a picture tonight.

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

Going to post some vids on the paint stripping process. This will be a start-to-finish multi-tool test and run. I also noticed nobody has made a vid of a brake job/adjustment... I'll try to do that while I'm doing my front wheel cylinder. Side work on the house and farm is done so I'll do...

More engine problems (Documentation of testing fuel system, failure of Hyd Head)

I can't find a great thread for this question, but this thread seems closely related, so here I go. Ever have a truck "Fix itself" when you didn't think anything was wrong? This is my first M35A2, but I'm an ASE parts tech and state licensed mechanic. I drove her almost 200 miles home and she...

    Fuselage ID help needed

He was a USAF vet... he worked on Bones if you get my reference. But yeah, the military gave them all full honors at Dover and at his service on Mother's Day. They took care of him as best they could. National has done good as well. It was all anyone could ask for.

    Fuselage ID help needed

Thanks. He was doing what he loved. How many 34 year old guys do you know in the right seat of a 747? You know what I mean? Before he left for the AF we rebuilt our bikes in his dad's hanger/garage and he ended up riding his to Chicken Alaska. He was that kind of guy. I just wish they would...

    Fuselage ID help needed

I have friends who work for National. Actually, my buddy Jamie was one of those who died in the crash in Afghanistan last month. We lived together in a bachelor pad years ago with some friends. His dad and brother both work for them as well. If you wanted to use that AT-11 chunk, the only...

    Insane home Water/meth injection...

Before you buy your keg, see if you can source a couple of "extra" M35A2 air tanks... plain janes, not the one for the split system. (iirc one of the split system tanks is an oddball for some reason, but I'll double check before saying for certain. ) Each air tank is a bit over 3gal, and can...

    Fuselage ID help needed

There are tons of C-18s out there. Actually, that fuselage might be valuable if it's intact enough to be used to build a AT-11 clone out of a civi-Beech. It would make for a good entry level warbird with some utility. I know the EAA had one they used to haul VIPs around. I marshaled and chocked...

Spray-on bedliner used to paint a MV?

If you want that surface so bad, but don't have the cash for the bedliner, use the "Deck Over" or "Deck Restore" paint you get at Home Depot. It's acrylic instead of polyurea, and water based, but just as thick and textured. Long term abuse as an everyday dumptruck it might not hold up, but if...

    Fuselage ID help needed

I'm thinking PV-2/Electra/Hudson... the top hole might be the nav bubble and not the turret that was farther back. The windows could be due to a later civilian conversion. But I could be wrong.

    Russian aircraft we could own.

I think a few of you guys might have an idea of where my head is. So, what is your dream machine from the other side of the cold war? Anyone here make that dream come true? Doesn't have to be a round motor, or even a piston engine. (Those are just my favorites.)

Another old bird with round motors... It looks like riot to fly. http://youtu.be/cuceTxUSAR4

I have an odd fascination with this bird. It reminds me of the M35A2 with wings. http://youtu.be/ESdHyNtHpqs

    ATF red dye?

ATF cleans the system and has more energy per cc than diesel. For regular diesel, the addition of cheap Wallyworld 2-stroke oil seems to be the best method of boosting lubricity.

That auction happened?! Where was the advertizements? I checked the postings two weeks ago.
