I could not open my passengers lid, the lock plate hit the hydralic motor. So to open it I had to rotate the boom, what a pain! now both lids open but i need to make a couple of prop rods like a car hood because they do not stay open the lids hit the hyderalic motor and the drivers hit the fire...
Have done something similiar with a gas powered compressor, ran just above idle, keep air tanks full. When we did this we jokingly called it an AAU auxilarly air unit.:p
I second this thought check the spitter valve first. On a recovery of a 929 we had the same problemswith air. When we first started the truck air pressure built fine then after leaving gov liq yard pressure droped to about 25 psi. We ended up loading our gas compressor in the back of the truck...
I have thought about a chain rack beside the spare for commonly used chains. Our truck came with 11 and and 7 pulleys and the tool boxes get full fast. Has anyone did anything like this?
I was at Riley today to pick up a 929 and saw these beds on the truck next to ours. Not only are they incresed capacity they are built good and heavy, like a miniture quarry truck bed.
Recovered a M936 this week, our first recovery we drove home 270 miles trouble free. Everything seems to work, and the tool boxes were full of stuff some new in packages.
