I have never taken the drums off of a LMTV but it looks like you have to pull the drum with the hub and then take the drum off the back side ? Good pictures and watch your fingers this stuff is heavy and likes to pinch .
Lever to shift the transfer case its in gear or out of gear. It just disconnects power to drive the wheels so you can use the winch .
Lever to winch has neutral and cable on and cable off .
With a new radiator you can get the hose port the right size and where they are needed. Radiators from the 1950 do tend to be larger and lower pressure then newer ones . I would think a bus radiator would be large enough but I have not seen it . I had to have a lower hose port changed from...
I have found some original military paint is really tough and sand blasting is not needed it makes a ideal under coat . a good pressure washer works to get rid of loose paint and paint not on right .
I took two pictures with out a flash and two with a flash . Military equipment is so hard to see in the dark $20 worth of tape may have helped stop this from happing .
I ordered two lights just like that off of Ebay for less then $20 12volt or 24volt for my smaller trailer that I pull behind the military trucks and my pickup . The light looks bright it may work good under the dash for a inside light.
I don't know about if the engine trying to pull more hot air then it can get will trip the indicator or not . I hope you can fix your truck and be back on the road .
The intake hose will sometimes split right beside the clamp and most of the time whistle when the engine is pulling . the black smoke I first would think oil seal in turbo .I would check the blow by I really don't want to think of a bad piston. I'm just trying to help.
Today I added the extension to the PTO lever for the front winch in my m52a2 it swivels to go under the seat when not in use I put the extension on the transfer case last year it works great no more reaching to the floor when shirting . also cut the front winch cable in half 90 feet works fine .
The tool I have seen for taking these fittings a part will let you reach up into places where you can only one hand and it grips the line and pushes the lock ring then pulls the line out. after that you push in the new line and pull back and your done .
