I'm looking at buying a back up transfer case for my M939A1/A2 trucks. I'm looking at a Rockwell Mod#1130 but have been told the Mod #1138 is the right one. The Mod #1130 looks correct. Anyone confirm which is correct? Thanks guys.

Yup, PPV you can purchase at any Hvy Truck parts store. I had the same issue on my M932A2, solved it with a new PPV. I want to say it cost $20.

Not true in the M939 series trucks. Many USMC and Navy Seabee M939 trucks to include M931, M931A1 & M931A2 truck-tractors have locking differentials. I have a M931A1 w/o anti-lock brakes, with fording kit and lockers.

Take a infra-red laser gun with you and shoot temps on critical components like u-joints, axle hups, diffs, tires, etc. Might just alert you early to possible failure...:tigger:

The gauges in these trucks are inherently in error, a infrared laser gun is your friend. Shoot the various components for an accurate temperature read.

I have a shot at acquisition of FMTV wheels mounted with NOS Michelin XZL 395X85RX20 tires. I have a M936A1 with Combat wheels mounted with 14RX20 Michelin XL's that are starting to show sidewall cracking. Has anyone swapped out Combat rims and 14R20's and downsized to the 395X85RX20's on FMTV...
