Thank you for the prompt reply. I do have the standard female spade terminals as shown in the link and I may have to use them. I was hoping to find the long, insulated type as show in pic 1. The little wire shown in pic 2 somehow links the positive and negative terminal blocks together...
I recently bought an M1009 that will need a great deal of work. I have been plugging away at it, a little each day. I noticed a few things that I wasn't quite sure about, so I took some pictures. If any of you can provide some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.
This clip is attached to...
I would like to install a radio/CD player in my M1009. I thought this was going to be simple, but after reading your post I can see that I could have made a HUGE mistake. The step down regulator seems to make the most sense, but I don't know where to get one. I imagine that when I find one...
That is an AWESOME looking CUCV. I don't see anything amiss in the photo's. I too just purchased an 86 M1009 and mine is in a much rougher condition than yours. I was intrigued by the "Ammo Can" concept you described in your post. Do you have a set of plans for this "attachment"? I would...
Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper/better to have your starter rebuilt? If it is an original starter, I would hesitate to part with it. I know that in many of the larger cities there are companies that specialize in repairing/rewinding electric motors and starters. Good Luck! I am sure that it...
Thank you for your prompt reply. I was sort of leaning the way you mentioned about Generac, Kohler, etc. I will have to investigate my home to see how much power I actually draw. I am sure I could identify the primary circuits I would and determine how much energy is necessary from each...
I want to get a generator for my home, but I don't have a clue as to how big a machine to get. How do you folks figure it out? Where do they come from? How do you wire one into your home? Do you isolate specific circuits? I am guessing that homes that use natural gas have different power...
The I-44 corridor is an AWESOME highway, although there is usually some sort of road work (orange barrel hell) in Missouri. Not too many hills to deal with... Nice Truck. I am sure you have guardian angels watching over your and the pooch. PS... Pick up a few MRE's and put them in the locker...
Your reply to my post is pure genius! I didn't understand the relationship between the glow plugs and the necessary heat to ignite diesel fuel. I was thinking of the glow plugs as "Spark Plugs" rather than a heat booster. You explained everything so well, I think I could now explain it to...
Thank you for answering my question about cylinder ignition. I didn't (don't?) quite understand the relationship between compression heat, glow plug ignition, etc. It seems to me that if all of the glow plugs are Full Mission Capable, the engine starts quickly. If some of the glow plugs have...
Another Odd-Ball question... If, say, four or five glow plugs are working, what happens in the cylinders with glow plugs that don't work? I guess that eventually, the mixture in these "failed plug" cylinders begins to ignite, but how? What happens if you only have two functional glow plugs...
