replacing the transfer-case in an A1

THANK YOU! Still learning how to navigate the site, Ill read up on all of those links! Here are some pictures of my deuce. Not really sure what year it is. It is titled as a 1953 REO, and the PO bought it from the government. Motor is dated january 1987, but maybe thats the rebuild date? The PO...

    Totaled Deuce Gets Rebuilt

HAHAHAHAHA If you have the space, buy a new cab and bed! May be easier just to buy a deuce with no engine, trans, etc and swap in your good parts. Any new bits on the totaled truck could be transferred also. Could then make a trailer out of the remaining frame/bed/axles, but would probably be...

replacing the transfer-case in an A1

If anyone has any info on transfer cases not engaging that would be helpfull. Talked to the PO today and he told me he did have to hold the t case lever up with force to get it to drive. If I just pull it up it does nothing, I gotta yank it and gas it. It grinds, then it will just catch! :?

replacing the transfer-case in an A1

That would stop a truck from moving even 1cm when revving it up in gear! Wow. Just hit the drum on the T case, correct? EDIT: WOW that was a bit scary. Smacked it with a dead blow and it just started rolling. Needless to say I shot out of under the truck. It was off and in gear? Transfer case...

My dad said we could pour an exterior one on the side of the shop to park the deuce on. Dont really want to try this...

MD/PA SS gathering at Appels compound

Sorry but I have a question: Do you think the deuce at Fort Mead runs? Anyone know how to make sense of the description or manifest? If Im reading it correctly, The date 1971/08 means it was built in 71 and overhauled in 2008? I would not be surprised if the government had over 100k in the...

MD/PA SS gathering at Appels compound

OK thank you. I will call Jason this week. What kinda prices is he asking? Also what kind of options do his trucks have? Interested in a rear cargo cover, and possibly a winch. I understand what you mean about paying a little more for a guaranteed runner. As I understand, I need to show the...
