    cucv lift kits

find a drive shaft shop in your area and have it re-tubed with a longer tube and they will also balance it. This is the cheapest option. You may want to look into a slip yoke eliminator kit and have the drive shaft rebuilt with a double cardon joint at the transfer case (just like the front...

Asking for 6.2 Detroit help from North Carolina

I recommend: http://www.badgerdiesel.com/store/shop.aspx. do not know what Oreillys price is but these guys have done three for me. once paid they will send you a pump in the mail, you send yours back and they refund the core charge. very easy to deal with and pretty fast delivery.

    M1009 snorkel

I believe the 6.5 intake and hat only has a 2.5 inch pipe connection. I could be wrong on the exact size but it is small and designed for pressurized air. without a turbo, it will be very restrictive for a NA motor.

2020 TX MV Rally at the Brazos Valley Off-Road Ranch

I have had to work and not had any time to get my roof rack completed. It does not look like I will be making the rally. not sure if the rally is still going to happen with all the large gatherings being canceled.

2020 TX MV Rally at the Brazos Valley Off-Road Ranch

I am still planning on making the rally, but work is getting in the way again. I have a lot to do to get the roof rack done so the truck can get on the road. I will have march 7 to the 12th open to finish the truck for the rally, all other days are taken up by my work schedule. I think I can get...

12 or 24 VOLT How do i know?

The headlights on a cucv are all 12 volt. The only thing 24 volt is the starter, slave port and the 24 volt bus bars for the use of military equipment.

12 or 24 VOLT How do i know?

shop elsewhere before buying a $900 starter. https://www.mechanicsurplus.com/products/135643369?msclkid=444c60ee7fa71521c4953ebbbeea87c7&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Campaign%20%232(BSC)&utm_term=4584826051797444&utm_content=Ad%20group%20%231 and there are many other places to...

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

I was able to get all of the interior braces complete, painted and installed. I have carriage bolts sticking out both sides that will hold the arms that will attach to the roof rack. The bolts will not stay sticking out, the head of the carriage bolt will be flush with the side. I am now ready...

Kinda got carried away..... M1028 rebuild

yes, gep was redesigned. just because it is a 506 block does not mean it was a gep. need to look at the forge markings to determine if it is a gep for sure. need to have the Navistar logo which is two triangles back to back for an old gep. The new gep motors are from a different forge.

12 or 24 VOLT How do i know?

research the doghead mod and use the wiring at this relay to determine what you have. just be careful, some of the wires at this relay are always hot when the batteries are hooked up

12 or 24 VOLT How do i know?

They probably just put a 12 volt starter on it and changed the battery cables thinking that was all that was needed to make it 12 volt. with both alts hooked up and no major butchering of the wiring harness then you are most likely making 24 volts when the motor is running. yes, pics would be...

12 or 24 VOLT How do i know?

look up the Roscommon 12 volt conversion (on this site) and see if this has been done, it is a popular way to convert it to 12 volt. IF the wiring harness does not appear to be butchered it may be easiest to make it stock since the wiring diagrams for this are located on this site at the top...

12 or 24 VOLT How do i know?

are both alternators hooked up. if it was converted to 12 volt then one alt will probably be disconnected. does the wiring harness look like it has been butchered. are there any markings on the starter. If the cables were set up to be in parallel then it was probably converted to 12. The...

    Centramatics?

I have them on my blazer and I think they are great. I have 1 ton axles so mine would be different model than those for a stock 1009. I have 39 inch tires on 16 inch rims and the centramatics make the tires ride smooth as silk. I can take them off and notice a difference. I do have the tires...

Kinda got carried away..... M1028 rebuild

That rock auto motor is a standard 6.5. not an optimizer or gep. And yes it is most likely built with used parts. I don't think Leroy has any p400's left. I believe you can still get a new GEP

    6.2 Head Gasket Issue (Video)?

no worry about pump timing, it only goes in and out one way. just note where it is lined up on the mark of the timing chain cover. highly recommend pulling the pump with all the lines on it. trying to take the lines off with the pump installed is very difficult, and getting them back on and...

Stripping an M1009 to repurpose components.

if you are scrapping the 1009 let others know here, we might buy some of the parts. just because it has not started in that long does not mean it wont run. If you plan to save the truck, pull the heads and take a look before going very far.

    6.2 Head Gasket Issue (Video)?

yes, IP is injection pump. to get the heads off you have to remove all the fuel lines and it is easiest to remove the lines with the pump. while you have it out, send it for a rebuild. It can be rebuilt for about $450. I would also consider having the heads rebuilt at a machine shop. normally...
