I've tryed to figure out and fix the problem by reading TM's and multiple posts here on SS, but so far have not been able to fix the problem. There does seem to be multiple threads with similar issues.
Truck is a 71 M35a2, non-turbo. I've only had the truck for about 9 months and it's been...
With the Velcro removed from the bows and the "new" longer bow in place I didn't experience any of the banging and noise I had before. Thanks again for the input and advice.
Just changed my oil and installed spin on filters. No problem with the pan drain plugs but I couldn't get the oil filter drain plug out. It's not very accessible, nothing I tried worked. Ended up just pulling out one canister and the sucking as much of the old oil out, then cleaning up the...
Thanks for the information and advice. I removed the velcro on the one that lined up. Bought a piece of round stock and made another bow a little longer to replace the one that wouldn't reach the hole. Well see how that works when I drive it to a parade tomorrow.
My soft top has three bars/bows that run from the back frame to the windshield frame. Looks like they help hold the back frame together and sit in holes in top of the windshield frame. Two fit in holes the other one on the passenger side doesn't fit into a hole. There is also velcro on the soft...
Thanks, using search with "ribbed connector" found a couple of other references. Seems to be conflicting information on the ribbed vs smooth connector along with posting of a PS that is identified to be incorrect.
To hopefully clarify the issue I've edited the PS so that is shows the "ribbed...
Looks like I have the only two gauges out that have a power and sender connection so I can't see if there is any commonality to the ridged vs smooth connector. Unless someone has pictures of which wire is connected where I'll just have to experiment and hope I don't ruin a new gauge doing it.
Cable is seized up. The only movement is where the sheath has been pulled out of the coupler right below the lever as shown in post #16. Have removed the old one and have a new one on order.
Heavysteven,
I used your thread to troubleshoot my gauge, nothing makes it move at all. I have 24v power and the sender wire is good. Pulled the ground by the tank off and cleaned it as well.
Still wondering if the different types of rubber boots mean anything, especially when the gauge...
The parking brake handle only moves about half an inch. Looking directly underneath it appears this movement is right below the handle (see picture). Appears that maybe the sheath should be attached here so that the cable moves within it? Next thing I guess is to disconnect it at the brake to...
Had a couple of gauge issues. Temp gauge would work if you tapped it, but would vibrate all over. Ordered a NOS gauge (dampened).
Fuel gauge didn't work at all, ran through the troubleshooting steps. Voltage to gauge is good, wire to tank sender is good, tank sender ground is good.
In...
Does anyone have a picture of how the parking brake cable is attached to the cab. Mine is broken and I'm trying to figure what I need to do to re-attach it.
Thanks
Here's what mine looks like right now.
Thanks everyone! First thing I did was read the "so you want to buy a duece" document. Now reading through TM's.
Understand the addiction, same with cars, tractors, on and on........... Just gets worse when you are pulled in several different directions.
I'll check out the North TX Club...
Hi,
I'm Richard, located about an hour northeast of the Dallas metro area near the small town of Leonard, TX. Have always wanted an MV, (a tank is what I really want, but don't have the budget for that). Always looking at ads, etc....... then one (M35a2) came up for sale on Craigslist close to...
