    replacement 6.2

I haven't removed any clamp from the lines, there is a clamp in the pic, are you referring to another one? The water remark wasn't directed at anyone, a guy up here is selling a 6.2 thats been sitting around for a number of years. Just wondering if there's any detrimental effects like rusting...

    replacement 6.2

I have checked out the leak from every possible angle, dry up top where the vacuum pump sits, even my mechanic agrees..its the L head outside rear corner. If only it was the valve cover. Here's a pic I took. Any downside to an engine that's been sitting around for a number of years? I'll assume...

    replacement 6.2

You make it sound easy like changing a lift pump. I'm aware of whats involved in an engine re&re and rebuild. I do my own maintenance, lift pump, P/S pump, water pump etc. I don't have a garage, engine hoist, cleaning tank or other equipment where I'm renting to think about tackling an engine...

    replacement 6.2

Anyone ship a 850 lb 6.2 cross country? wondering how much they charge. That's in case my search up here fails. Not giving up yet..still chasing some leads. By the way, does a Humvee 6.2 have the same rotation water pump? I know the oil pan has to be changed and the water crossover pipe is...

    replacement 6.2

Having numerous issues with my tired motor. Looking around up here for another 6.2. Wondering what opinions anyone might have on a price range for a good used 6.2, reasonably low miles, not bagged. basically a long block with no IP, alts, etc..

    Lift pump question...

I made the mistake of installing a Carter pump that failed in 13 months. Put a AC Delco pump in, still going for over 6 years.

    Epic 27MT Rebuild quest.

Well, final chapter on the 27MT rebuild. Starters been cranking slower, harder to start, 5 years and 4 months since rebuild. This time I ordered a selection of undersize I.D. bushings. The whole pack was $10, which is their minimum order amount. Last time I had a new CE end plate that came with...

    windshield re&re time

So went to a glass shop and inquired about a windshield. Mines lasted 14 years, finally got a chip that started cracking. Guy says $380..I'm like..what? It's that much more than the States. Then I'm like how long do do it. Guy says 3-4 hrs. At this point I laughed and said you have got to be...

"Tie Rod" from Pitman arm to drag link.

Just seen this thread after I picked the part up. Went by the 20 manual, listed 362297 which crossed over to Moog ES2027L for the Rear tie rod to steering arm. So its wrong and I actually need a ES2026R?

    M1009 Engine woes

When I bled my injectors I cracked the lines, pulled the glow plugs so its easier on the starter, put a piece of cardboard along each inner fender. Then cranked..the fuel spray shows up well on the cardboard, you should get a good wet spray pattern, you can see if any injectors still have air...

    Mechanical fuel pump replacement

Has it fallen out of the hole and wedged against the mounting plate? You have to remove the plate, then..to get it in the hole.

    Truck keeps losing it's prime

I had the fuel cap issue also, with excessive vacuum. If I cracked the cap when I stopped it would fire up in the morning. If I left it, it lost prime. One of the reasons I ended up on this forum back in 2006, trying to find answers to puzzling issues like this. At the time didn't consider...

    Opinions on M1009 Tires

I'm on my second set of 33x12.50 BFG all terrain KO's. Got 86,000 miles on first set, could have still ran them up to 100,000, but not enough tread for winter driving around hills here.

    Lack of power at speed.

The dual exhaust on the M1009 is pretty free flowing. Changing to a 3" pipe will likely accomplish nothing. Add a Turbo if you need power..

    New Manufactured Power Steering Brackets

Will they? That's quite a definitive statement..I simply cannot concur with. Even if I was in a position was to consider your "plan", you lost me at Chinese manufacturing.

    4 Hour Oil Change

About this "I use Fram filters because that's what my dad used in 1970." When i first got my M1009 I used them too, that is until I read a filter comparison where they cut them apart. Fram might have been good back then, not anymore. I've been using Wix ever since.

    Steering box leaking........

Here's my steering box story. Went to an alignment shop, tells me I need a new box, too much play to do an alignment. So I order one from a local parts supply chain store. Rebuilt, turn in your core arrangement. Pick it up, its clean, new paint on it, drop it off. Get a call 2 hours later, go...
