Hook the new digital gauge directly to the existing volt meter in your panel and it will read whichever voltage you select with the volts/current selector switch and will always read the HZ too.
It cannot be off a full revolution and still be running. Probably one injector not working or one cylinder with low compression due to bad ring, broken piston, or valves either out of adjustment or broken/bent.
In my Onan Master manual, the DJC is listed as only 120 cubic inches displacement. The MEP003a engine is 140 cu.in. I used the RDJF and MDJF, which are each 140 Cu. In. engines for my estimate of power available.
The civilian version of the 003 engine is rated at about 32hp at 1800rpm. Just need the adjust the stop screw on the pump lever to allow more fuel delivery.
I realize this is a little late to reply, but for the next guy with this problem, the crank may be one revolution off and still be on the PC mark. You may have to remove the pump and turn the crank forward one complete revolution and reinstall the pump. Remember the engine turns two...
Matt, if it is a Fairbanks mag, I may have the parts for you. I have one off an engine that broke the camshaft. I think the parts inside the mag are OK. PM me your email. I will try to remember to check on it tomorrow.
BTW, I have had a few problems with the mag not firing on these engines...
Class 8.8 metric bolts are roughly the equivlent of American Grade 5 bolts(120,000 psi heat treated carbon steel) Grade 8 (heat treated alloy steel) are 150,000 psi, socket heads are 160.000 psi and grade L9 bolts are 180,000 psi. Any of these heat treated bolts are much stronger than the...
Wet stacking symtoms are pretty much described in the name. Unburned fuel enters the exhaust pipe/muffler and you will get a black ooz leaking from joints and possible dripping from the exhaust system. It takes some time running at light or no load to cause the symptoms. Loading it up and...
Give the starter a whack with a hammer. When the brushes get too worn to make good contact on the armature commutator, the pull-in winding of the starter solenoid will not get its ground and the solenoid will pull maybe 10 amps as the hold-in winding still gets its ground to the solenoid case...
I have had several frequency meters that were bad and bought digital frequency meters on ebay to replace them. Had a local shop cut some adaptor plates with a laser for mounting the rectangular digital meters where the round meters were. Works nice. This is especially nice for the frequency...
Same experience here. Mine did not work when I first hooled it up. Reversed the field wires and it works perfect. Seems to be polarity sensitive. Much more stable than the original regulator.
Had the same problem on one of mine. Just pull the pump and replace the seal. That is the problem 99 and 44/100% of the time. Good luck. Same pump that John Deere used for years and was also used on the early GM 5.7L and 6.2L diesels. Easy to rebuild.
