I am glad my post was entertaining.
I am new CUCV Mechanic. I am sorry I don't have the experience as a mechanic or working on CUCVs.
I am still trying understand how the CUCV operates.
I have had the CUCV for 6 months now. Yes, I am still learning. I ask that you please bear with
me...
Please forgive me if my post is a basic/common knowledge question.
I want to verify I understand this correctly.
Passenger Gen Charges back battery? Also known as Gen2?
Driver Gen Charges front battery? Also known as Gen1?
Is this correct?
Thank You,
Stationjj
I found this tube with a bolt in the end of it. It appears to connect left of the CDR valve under the air intake.
What does it go to? What should I do with it?

Thank You for the great pictures on the wiring for the rear power bus.
Did all M1009 come stock with a rear radio bus? I suspect mine didn't as I can't find anywhere the cable might have run.
Anyway another project.

I recently replaced my ignition and dimmer switch. I fixed 2 problems, but another problem came up concerning the charging system.
This is what left me stranded a weak battery. I am glad I got AAA. Advice I got here on SS.
I noticed the voltmeter was dipping slightly in the yellow. I...
Great post Thank You for sharing. This is something I am interested in doing.
I do have a question. When I purchased my M1009 the rear power bus and cabling were missing.
I got a rear power bus from someone on SS. My question is how the cabling run to the rear.
I have a few ideas how, but...
I just completed replacing my ignition and dimmer switch. I also took out the whole dash to clean it up and clean the electrical connection on the wait light.
Well this fixed my engine shut down issue and the flashing wait light issue.
I drove the CUCV today about 40 miles and 5 stops. I did...
I bought a CUCV M1009 in April 2012. I am learning to repair problems as I go along. I am loving it! I am an addict. HAHA!
I quickly found that many problems are discussed in the TMs -20 and -34. What I found a problem was trying to read PDFs on my laptop and working on truck. I kept...
In the past few days I have completed;
Replacing ignition
Repaint dash
Repainted instrument cluster panel
Replacing the ignition was a pain. I hope this helps with my periodic problem with engine shutting down?

Hey
I am looking to replace the 4X4 instructions decal on the driver side Sun Visor. There is also an engine starting instructions decal as well.
Does anyone know a source for them? I checked LMC no luck.
I don't place it into 4X4 much, but I would like a cheat sheet if needed.
Thanks...
I went with Costco Group 31 batteries. They are made by Johnson Controls, and have the same warranty as the interstate batteries do 3years. I paid $87 each.
I also did add a solargizer. This should help maintain the batteries.

I had a similar issue with my Voltmeter reading between yellow and green after starting.
I replaced the alternator regulator plugs, and I get a good solid green voltmeter reading. I know this want solve your starting issues.
Thought I would add my TWO cents worth...
CapKrk,
You may also check out a pull a part junkyard. I got lucky and a civy 83 K5 blazer in a junkyard in Nashville. In the Houston area I am sure you got several junkyards to choose from.
I paid $60 for 2 seats and cleaned them up. Check out my Post I did...
Another idea is memory foam from Amazon. $19.99 for 34X76X1.
It's not the best memory foam you can buy, but for $20. It works well on my seats
I had enough for full driver and passenger seat, and the seat on the rear bench.
