Exactly hokie! Buy the hella conversion (it comes with 12v lamps). Buy some 24v lamps, ceramic sockets. Solder the old pigtails and you're done! Next time you need to replace a headlight, you just need the little halogen lamp. Much easier to keep a spare in the truck than the fill sealed beam...

Second on hklvette's reply. Best thing I ever did. Bought them on amazon cheap. You can use standard (24v) halogen bulbs which are cheaper than the sealed beams when you replace them. Soldered the civilian lamp socket to the old leads I cut off the dead sealed beams.

I pulled a DRASH trailer behind my 923A2 yesterday for the first time. Blacking was actually not bad because with the spare tire removed, you could see most of the trailer through the back glass. With a spare on the rack, I'm betting it would be more if a challenge.

Dumb question. Was your headlight switch turned on?

Get an h4 conversion lamp housing. Then you can use cheap bulbs instead of sealed beams. Much brighter light too

Might try a gauge in line with the outlet of the CTIS controller. You may have a pressure switch somewhere that's AFU.

that's your CTIS controller. Might want to read up a little bit on the troubleshooting. Lots of useful threads on here already.

Replaced front axle boot and changed out front tire with spare to fix a leaky o-ring.

+1 for Ddmk18. 20 ton Air/hydraulic from harbor freight. Works great. You'll never go back to a regular hydraulic jack.

I bought halogen conversion lenses. They use a replaceable halogen bulb like modern headlights. Just had to replace the included 12v bulbs with 24v. They work great. They're way brighter than stock and a fraction of the cost of the LEDs.

Started process of replacing CTIS and axle seals. I thought I had everything but I got the wrong part for the outer CTIS seal. Bought one from ebay but it'll have to sit until the mailman brings it. First time tearing into an axle. Might as well service the brakes while I'm in there I guess...

Id say you will be hard pressed to notice much of a difference in ride quality. Those words never crossed the minds of the engineers responsible for these trucks!
