Haha, yeah I hear ya on the luck. Happens with all my 'spensive hobbies.
The Plasti-dip peeled off pretty easily, but I'm gonna try undercoating when it isn't so windy. The only mechanical issues I've had are the leaky OEM fuel filter assembly which I swapped out for the FM100 unit from Gimpy...
Ok looking at the -20, it appears that is labeled as "12. 10 amp/28 v (Voltmeter) Fuse". The accessory slot next to it goes to that fuse correct?
Thanks.
ETA: Pic of how I'm gonna mount it. Ground should be good I think.
I'm not an electrical guru, so please bear with me.
I found a lot of posts/threads where folks have installed these lights, but they didn't get very specific as to how they went about it.
From what I have pieced together it seems 14ga wire was used and some folks said a 15a inline fuse would...
Yeah there is no ad or anything. I saw the truck while driving my HMMWV down Louisiana HWY 28 for work and noticed it had a rear seat. I went back later in my POV to ask if he would be willing to sell me the seat since he has a quasi-salvage yard.
It was a no, but I would rather see someone...
I was going to post info about a CUCV for sale I found locally in the chapter area. Hoping someone would grab it, just not sure if that's kosher here.
Is it ok to post it so someone can grab the truck for a good deal?
Thanks.
Over the past 2 days I:
-Sanded and painted my chrome tailgate mech with Plasti-Dip. I'll see how it holds up.
-Painted my Specter Jerry can OD. Can't find my yellow spray paint so I might just leave the top as is.
-Opened up my APC dome light to clean it up and refurbish it. Broke the...
The OPFOR here at JRTC run a lot of civvie "technicals" with MGs mounted in the beds of pickups. One is even a dual M2 .50 cal mount.
Interested to see how they ran them, I looked in the back of one the other day and all I saw was a large plate of steel to which the mount was welded. The...
Seems like an overhead rack could accommodate these 24 inch light bars?
<snip>
I'm eyeballing them pretty hard as a low profile option and it has IR capability!
Installed the new to me 3rd row seat I got from an 80s Suburban a few days ago. I was told about a salvage yard deep in the woods that may have some square body chevys. They had a bunch!
This seat was pretty crusty, but luckily it had spent quite a bit of time folded down so I just needed to...
I got everything plumbed up, but wanted to make sure it's right since some of the guys doing this mod talked about having to hunt down 3/8 to 1/4 reducer fittings and such. I just used 3/8 and 1/4 barb fittings directly into the unit.
Right/rear port is in (3/8) and goes to the hard line...
This post has been going for a bit, no need to stop now!
Was given a link to this thread after posting about my leaky base (vent plug won't hold seal) and there are some great options for the conversion.
I'm personally inclined to go with the Caterpillar 3208 filter head with hand primer...
After digging through the TM it is the fuel heater. I thought it wasn't seating all the way which was keeping the vent plug from sealing off the vent hole. I just replaced the fuel pressure switch behind the filter and then tried to seat the vent plug and fuel is still coming from the vent...
Hey guys I was having a hard time starting my '09 for about a month.
After doing some reading and some advice from a knowledgeable buddy we determined that air was getting into the fuel lines. The other day it wouldn't start at all.
Figuring I would go with the cheapest fix, I started poking...
Hey thanks Warthog. Found Patracy's thread- working through it now. On the pump I read of some guys having no vac at pumps they got from the JY, so I'll prob just go with a parts house unit.
