    ATF leak at shift lever

M1009, I have a fairly decent ATF leak that appears to be coming from where the shift lever enters the pan. The cork gasket(which sucks, and I over torqued so there are small leaks around that in places) was installed along with a new filter a few months back, and the leak has slowly appeared...

    CUCV Locking Fuel Cap

I have not used the large nozzle, and I wouldn't want a lockable cap if I had a choice. I seem to have too many keys as it is, and imagine it would get old quick fumbling around looking for the key every time I pulled up to the pump, not to mention being very frustrated should the key become MIA.

    Temp Gauge Issue

cpf240, Some of my research seemed to point to heat soak, I just thought the gauge should read higher while driving. Warthog, I replaced my tstat a month or so back, used AA Part No. 14429, 190 degree.

    Temp Gauge Issue

I installed a Sunpro Mechanical Temp gauge this weekend, AA Part No. CP8217. I used the open plug on the water pump to install the sensor using the supplied adapters, and temporarily mounted the gauge under the toggle switches inside. The gauge reads 160-165 while driving around, will dip to...

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

Here's an update I failed to post. I talked to a buddy of mine and he suggested I recheck my injectors and lines. He said his truck done the clacking thing after changing the lines. The sound was coming from the rear passenger side so I started there. Found that back injector line was cross...

My M1009 Cranks But Won't Start

Do you have reason to suspect you have bad batteries(meter tested or load tested them?)If your batteries are good, try swapping the fuel filter. I attempted to drive mine home with a bad fuel filter back when I first aquired it(didn't really know any better) and it didn't work out too well. The...

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

I thought I was done with this project, apparently not. I don't have any more leaks though. I drove around some more and noticed I have a "clacking" sound(best i can tell its coming from passenger side of engine area) that seems to diminish the more I accelerate, and I also noticed I'm blowing...

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

Thanks for the deadblow 101 link, now I'm up to speed on striking tools, and now know I do not own a deadblow hammer. I ended up taking the manifold back off and tightening the loose line,(I tried every angle with the 17mm crowfoot but it wasnt happening) and all seems well now. I did...

    Diesels and vacuum....

Thanks for that last part Warthog, I was going to ask if that could be done for future reference. Had I started my vehicle without the manifold on it would have saved me a lot of trouble this weekend with my leaking injector line.

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

I got the ol girl fired up this morning after charging the front battery overnight. Apparently I didn't tighten the very bottom injector hose enough, so I'm leaking....I'm going back out shortly to see if I can get to it without having to take the manifold back off.

    whats my m1009 worth?

As much as someone is willing to pay for it that's looking for one at the time. I breed and sell exotic pets as my second job/ hobby and I have sold animals for retail and above then a few months later sold basically the same thing for below what I considered market value, but I needed to free...

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

Thanks Warthog, that's what I figured but wanted to throw my problem out there. I'm no expert by any means. Any thoughts on what the ticking was? You think I may just still have air in the system causing me not to fire?

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

I got everything put back together, bled the fuel system, yet I can't get it started. I did hear a tick, tick, tick aprx 3 seconds apart between starting attempts, now nothing but a machine gun sounding fast clicking, I assume I have now run down the batteries. My meter reads a bit over 12V on...

    Thermostat Installation

If the torque value isn't listed, you can use the table in Appendix D of TM9-2320-289-34. It lists nut/bolt size and torque values.

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

I got the intake manifold off the other day, found a replacement clip and installed it in place of my paperclip, and today finally got all the injector lines off...what a pain. I also got the drivers side valve cover off and cleaned all the RTV off. I have covered everything up for the night...

    Intake manifold removal, advice/help needed

I got the manifold off and found an aftermarket part....look closely, that's a paper clip. So which manual has a picture of how this is supposed to be connected and what I'm missing?
