Where to buy seats? Buckets or Bench? 1987 1 ton 6.2 Pickup

Buy some seats from a junkyard, if you have a welder you might have to add a rail to the outside (closest to door). Drill the holes to the bars for the seat to work.Me, Id just have the bench seat redone with Mil Gortex.

    24v to 12v and problems!!!

I would love to get the original wires made for this truck, buy a new 24v starter and glowplugs. The wires look like spaghetti, being spliced and wires added. The way he tried to add a radio into the dash using the volt meter wire is a headache trying to re-attach the wires the way they should...

    24v to 12v and problems!!!

Remember, I bought this truck thru a ex-brother in law who screwed up all wiring while converting to 12v. Questions are, 1:should I still use those two big resisters on the fire wall or bypass them. 2:Replace the starter relay to a lesser voltage 3: Anything about the GP relays that should be...

6.2 not getting oil to the top end

Oh, I know that. I get mad at myself for not recalling simple things that I should know. I laughed also because it something so simple to remember and I couldnt remember the name. To tell the truth, I get frustrated more then I get mad for not remembering simple things. The mystery oil works...

Newb with some questions 86- M1009

These are Mil vehicles and have heavier weight compared to its civilian counterpart. The springs are longer for the weight. Go with the TM and not the civilian books. I have a few websites that you can go to to buy springs if you are going to lift your truck. If you are unsure of the...

    Wiring schematics needed

On the Buss bars on the firewall, their are 5 posts for the positive and 3 for the negative. Their is a wire(resistor) maybe that is what it is called that runs from the 3rd post of the Pos to the second post of the neg. Make sure that this is not burned out. Mine was orange in color but looked...

    Wiring schematics needed

Will your engine even crank or is it just dead in the water? Check those two big resisters on the frewall and make sure that the wires are still intact. Look to see if they have been melted or are soft. If soft, replace wires. Check the starter relay to make sure it wasnt burned out. Also...

    Cucv door markings

What branch of service are you trying to do your vehicle? The Navy and Airforce construction units have door markings. The Marine Corps and the Army have bumber markings and marking on the hood and windshield. They do describe what unit/divison you belong to. M12001 would be 2Mardiv HGBN. The 6...

    M1008 electrical question

You are saying (plow lights). I am now stupid so forgive me for my accident. What I just read you grounded twice which shows a short if I still remember. Neg to engine/frame. Your front battery to a neg and it shows power tells me that you have a short somewhere. Two negs in math makes a pos...

    24v to 12v and problems!!!

I have changed out starters, relays and ect, now I have a problem with my fuse block under dash. Two fuses. One for fuel which I think runs off the black out lights and another that has melted the plastic on the fuse block. That fuse is supposed to go to Main Lights from the detail and pic of...

    Anyone using this battery?

Oh, keep your receipt from Walmart in a save place. Dont tape it to the battery. My ex brother in law still had keys to my truck and stole my battery. He took the receipt and got another battery for his own dead battery. I got screwed and he has 2 new batteries. He took the date/stamp off of my...

Seems like their is 24v for everything, including that darn relay inside the dash. I mean, for that stater relay under the dash would that not cause poblems if you changed from 24v to 12. This was not my project. I bought the project after all was screwed up big time. Just seems to me everything...
