Just "checking " the grounds isn't enough. They need to be taken apart and cleaned. The one that goes to the flasher unit mount is a problem a lot of the time. And DH is correct about the flasher, you can wipe them out as soon as you power them up. Good luck , keep us posted.
Some oil will always get around. The military chose to have the bearings grease lubed where most full floating axles will lube the bearings with the gear oil. The grease packed into the bearings is what will keep the oil away. Just pack the bearings good and put a dab of RTV on the keyway and...
Here is a short list of what you will probably need to repair on the brake system
1. rebuild/replace all wheel cylinders
2. rebuild/replace master cylinder
3. Learn to check your brake fluid everytime you drive your truck.
4. If the airpack is suspect. rebuild/replace it.
Then the truck...
I've used other companies floor pans but in my opinion LMC is the best one out there. Maybe someone is offering something newer and better but I havent found it.
They do take some massaging to fit properly good luck.
If you can get by with a patch panel I would lean that way.
Welcome from Cicncinnati. I would keep the mustang and save up. There a re a lot of CUCVs so you wont have trouble finding one. A spare vehicle is always good to have.
