With all those, you should be part owner or at least get the mag for free ! I will have to go back and look some of those up. Can they be republished on this forum ?
The info I have on it is that it was kept by Sarfan until they moved to FL, then TNJ Murray bought it to keep and I had to manage a complicated deal to entice him to get rid of it. I ended up procuring a military weasel to trade, along with $$$ for it. To get the weasel, I had to trade my M38...
Just got my 1973 M342A2. I am starting with a complete service, grease etc. I will try to register it on the weekend. Does anyone know how the air compressor gets lubricated ?
very interesting ! That will give me something to play around with, wonder how much they get for them things?
Thanks for the info !!!!
I was doing all kinds of searches on brake systems and couldn't find anything like that.
FYI if you run with a complete fording kit on, and the air ducting causes a partial vacuum due to the engine/turbo drawing large volumns of air which is trying to make its way from the top of a stack, when the air compress is in the unloaded mode (not making air psi) the vacuum will tend to draw...
almost a year later, the vehicles had circuit breakers behind the instrument pannel, the light are divided up into 2 sections, one for normal driving and the other for low light combat conditions.
What are the differences between the two products? Selectro has been around for a long time and seems to have a premium product. I can buy off brand hubs for my M37 for $90 a set, but I was told Selectros are about $250. Why is this new brand worth the extra money? Then it looks kinda like a...
A small problem comes to mind with your dual circuit feature. The air is only "triggered" from the air pac by a hydraulic signal from the master cylinder, so if you loose a hyd brake line, you won't be able to hyd signal the air pac to send air to the second air pac or even a trailer if you...
When you figured the cost of fuel savings, how much was fuel per gallon? After (if ever) you reach the point where they are paid off, how much are the hubs worth then? (pretty close to the same price? By then they will cost more). Minute reduction in vibration and noise is worth something...
Before you change the bushings, have you checked them for play? Jack up the axle and pry up on the tire (or use a tire iron into the rim and pick up and down) you want to rock the top of tire in and out. If it is tight, the bushing shouldn't be needed. If the tire rocks slightly, it might be...
I typed your description into yahoo search and it came up with a page, but of coarse it was down or tech difficulties, prob defunct. I will check back later.
Something cheap and easy ( you get what you pay for) :
Try to fill the rear most axle's tires to the max pressure (or more), and run all the rest a litte on the lower side, this will let the rear axle slide easier due to the tires runing up on the their centers.
I am 1/2 done installing a 6.2 in an M37, I wanted comfort so I went with the 700R4 GM overdrive automatic. It is not heavy duty, but who works these trucks? The engine was installed using the chevy X member with motor mounts and bolted right into the dodge frame, the frame width is ground...
The numbers on this truck's data plate (as best as I can make out) are:
DA20-113-AMC-07241(t)
MFG/No 0223 10114
S/N 4J5643
Kaiser Jeep Corp
I have a pic of a sister truck's data plate which reads:
2320-07 (incomplete)
MFG/NO 0223 10197
S/N 4J6430
DA20-113-AMC (incomplete)
I gues I...
that would explain someone elses theory that lugging the engine causes head gasket failure, the high low end boost would favor lugging to utilize that torque and cause more gasket failures then the D eng.
I was told the radiator in the 2 1/2 ton is not large enough to get rid of the extra heat generated by all that HP. You could look to see if the LDS had piston coolers, there would be 6 and centered with each cylinder around at the crankshaft height. They spray up on the bottom of the piston...
