More showing from driver's side to passenger's and the distance between each 'bow':
The other pics are to give you a rough idea of the angle at which the bows are installed from rear to front.
...the rear of the frame where the bows install should be pre-drilled, so the only measurements you...
Hmmm... I'm not a Deuce expert, and certainly don't pretend to be. With that said, my Deuce came with a hard top (I understand that doesn't mean it was original), but upon removing the hard top I found the three holes necessary to install the soft top. There was rust everywhere you'd expect...
They were a "take-off" from another Deuce - all is OEM. If you look at the top "pipe" where the "bows" fit into you should see three mounting holes. There are also three mounting holes on top of your windshield frame. On the other hand, you have a 5 ton, so it may be a bit different. Some of...
I got my soft top from armytrucksrus on ebay - $170 new
The complete soft top frame from Idahomotorpool - $150
The top is tan, as you can see in the photo, and the frame is OD... soon to be black, or tan.
Getting the hard top off was a p.i.t.a because it was painted/rusted on, but after...
Oklahoma's great! Texas seems great, as well.
I bought the deuce in Texas, near San Antonio, and drove it minus a license plate all the way to Oklahoma City. Was passed by several state troopers in both OK and TX, but was never stopped... even fueled up next to one at a small station in TX -...
Mine's reading very near 60 when driving, and about 50 while idling. After a while it'll go down to 35 while idling, but jumps right back up to near 60 when driving.
When I first picked it up it only ran about 10 while idle and 30 on the road. Is this right? Or is this a sign of bad things to...
Ran across a few more...
... from a different perspective. These were taken by Paul L. McCord Jr. Thanks, Mr. McCord! He's got several more at Armed Forces Day Parade 2011 - a set on Flickr , but I'm only posting the ones relevant to SS.
Thank, Joe! The Del City Parade was a blast!! It was nice meeting all the fellers and an honor to ride with you all.
The Blue Star Mothers, the few I spoke with, were a great group, and I hope you feel free to call if you need anything while your kids are deployed.
Here are a few pic of the...
I may be spending my "tire-kicking/tall tale" time wrapping the troop seats in plastic - paint has yet to dry!!! No problem... I'll just re-strip the paint and re-paint after the parade. aua
See ya'll there!
Vibration fixed.
I'll have 7 boys from a local Catholic school, but if necessary I can bring a blanket and have them sit on the floor of the bed to make more room for the Blue Star Mothers.
I'm having a serious vibration issue, but I'm sure I'll have it fixed prior to Saturday... probably just extremely low pressure in a rear tire.
Candy; check! Fuel; check! Painted troops seats; in progress!
Wow! Sounds like a great thang, fer shure!! [thumbzup]
Before you fill your Deuce, do you add any diesel to your mix, or just run it as is? How does it burn? Any extra smoke when driving? Jeez - sounds too good to be true. Now I'm thinking of adding my very own redneck fuel station to my home.
Newbie here. Just to clarify: WMO = Waste Motor Oil, correct?
Your system heats WMO in order to allow it to become "thin" enough to be pushed through the filters and therefore, cleaned? Do you add anything else to the oil before filling your fuel tank with it?
I've been reading various...
Warthog stated the staging point is just north of I-40 on Sunnylane Rd.
For those looking for a good deal on candy - SAMS is the best, as far as I know.
We'll be there, and the troops seats will be completely refinished by then... no more splinters! [thumbzup] I'll have a few kids from Philip...
