My truck is doing the same thing, and the fuse box is eating a fuse a day. It burns them up, melts them and the heater will only run for a little while before this happens. Where do I start looking? I am going to pull my heater control box to see if that is the cause.

What does this do to the system? I guess what I mean to say is, what problem does this fix?

I just replaced Glow Plug and truck starts up real nice, but...... No clicking of the relay or electrical system at all. Wait light comes on, but no glow plug noise. The sound of silence worries me. Glow plug relay, or controller card? Put them in but did not drive just in case

How does the pintle come out, once the nut is removed? Does it thread out or does it just slide out with extensive hammering, cussing, etc.?

When you get the nut loosened, does the pintle just pull out, or is it threaded into the bumper receiver? Mine will turn from side to side, but will not begin to come out. The nut is backed up to the fuel tank and will not go any further.

What kind of wrench do you use to free the bolt or nut that holds the pintle to the truck?

I personally use a cooler. Perfect size, big to hold a lot of stuff, can be found with cup holders on lid, cheap and readily available Not to mention removeable and has multiple uses like any good tool
