4 plus feet would be an extreme situation and not the norm. However, I'd like to be able to get to a family in high water if needed. What does a fording kit include and what are the limitations? If I can't get into 4 feet of water occasionally, I've bought the wrong truck.
So this truck is not capable of 4-6 foot water rescues? I'm on an emergency call detail (voluntary) and travel around Central and Gulf areas during high water events.
Nothing I can do to this truck to get through water up to the doors with the exception of a lift and bigger tires?
Hello,
i just bought a 929a2 for high water rescue operations and would like to know what I need to do to enable it to go through high floodwaters (4+ft.). I've heard of fording kits, but is there a checklist somewhere that I can go down that detail all modifications I need to do to make sure...
Thank you very much for the info. Do you know what the +24V wire is for? I appreciate your input. I guess neither of these leads have anything to do with alternator charging or generator gauge operation, so I need to chase that down. Thing is, the gauge worked when I jumped the original 4...
So I have to assume the other tap is likely to go to +24V for the ABS as the other respondent mentioned. I sure don't want to blow anything! I'm going to take another look at the leads to see if I can find any tags, etc.
My heater blower is working, so I assume I need to hit the +tap for 24V on the abandoned wire. Neither of these have anything to do with the generator gauge I assume? This 5 ton is brand new to me, so I have a learning curve to overcome. Next task is to figure out the flashing CTIS stuff. Thanks...
Thanks for the diagram - I know my heater works now, but the ABS light is on. I will hook the remaining wire up to the +24V tap. I'm surprised they run dual voltage accessories.
Hello,
I recently swapped in 2 batteries to replace 4 dead ones and there are 2 small gauge connections to the old 4 battery setup. Where should these go in a 2 battery setup? Do they both go to a positive pole? My understanding of this specific wiring scheme is limited, but my charge indicator...
Thanks, and I agree. I will try cracking the bleed valve on the airpack to see if I can get anything out of it. I guess if nothing comes out with a full reservoir, the MC is shot.
Hi,
I looked around, but didn't see anything that matched my situation exactly, so I thought I would send a post out. I had an empty brake reservoir yesterday (deuce sat for 3 weeks), so I filled it with dot 5. Pumped for 30 minutes and no pressure builds at all. I know the system will need a...
Hi,
Just obtained my first Deuce +.5 and love it. I have been looking around to find a part that is leaking diesel on top of my engine, but cannot figure out what it is. It has an intake, then a small plastic tube that seems to feed into the turbo exhaust..?? Weeps diesel form a weephole between...
